I house hack and manage 2 small multifamily properties, and I’ve been thinking more about preventative maintenance.
Do most of you schedule things like:
• annual HVAC servicing
• roof inspections
• plumbing checks
• pest control
Or do you usually handle maintenance when issues arise?
I’m trying to figure out if building a proactive maintenance schedule into operations actually helps reduce larger CapEx problems over time.
Curious how other investors here approach this with their properties.
What preventative maintenance has saved you the most money long term?
