Before I get to the who and why, I want to say this plainly.
Picking a winner this round was genuinely hard. I went through every submission. Pulled repos. Read identity files. Compared rules.md sections. Every entry did real work. A lot of you shipped something I would happily use, sell, or hand a client tomorrow. I can NOT explain to you how proud I am of everyone participating in these, you make this community worth and it and there is SO much potential for the future from just ONE competition let alone future ones.
💼 That part matters more than the prize.
The $325 covers a year of Premium and that's great but...
The portfolio piece is the real value here. A public repo of a working folder-based AI specialist with a clean README and receipts is a resume line that hiring managers can clone and test cold in five minutes.
It is also something you can charge for. If you built a specialist that solves a real problem in a real domain, you already have most of what you need to license it to a peer in your industry, sell it as a service, or package it as a Done-with-You engagement.
A few quick notes on that, because most of you did not realize what you actually built and I want to Highlight a few of you:
💸 USD Routing Coach AR could be sold to every Argentine indie consultor I know. Same playbook works for any country with FX restrictions. Subscription service, recalibrated annually, audit-pack included. It is a product. 🔗 https://github.com/Nicopatron/usd-routing-coach-ar 🔧 RAMS specialist is a service business in waiting. Irish signage contractors will pay for this. Same model works for any trade with a regulatory documentation burden. Plumbing, electrical, fit-out, demolition. Each one needs its own folder. 🔗 https://github.com/JannetjeIQ/rams-irish-signage-installer And for the Virgilio callout, he won last week, and honestly we thought about palcing him as the winner this week:
⭐ built an ICM Workspace Builder this round. Pick an archetype, answer structured questions, preview the architecture, download a populated working folder. I am setting a meeting on the calendar with him(look at my DM Virgilio lol). I am going to be talking about working together through Eduba. This is the second time in two weeks Virgilio has set the bar, and I want everyone to see I am not just saying that. I am acting on it. 🌐 https://workflowcreate.netlify.app/ 🔗 https://github.com/Virgiliorobor/customs-tool-development-specialist 👀 That is the other thing about these comps worth internalizing.
I am not actively recruiting right now. But I read every submission. I look at every repo. When someone consistently ships work at this level, I keep their name on a short list. So do the people watching from the sidelines who are recruiting. A folder-based specialist with a clean README and a public repo is a job application that does not look like a job application.
I could keep going. Every single submission I looked at had a sellable angle. Take that seriously.
NOW for the moment you have been waiting for ------
Why Ruben?
Voiceprint is technically solid. Pure ICM where it counts. Rule 0 (no artifact, no post) is a real refusal mechanism, not a label. The Maya and Dale identity examples (same niche, completely different voices) demonstrate the methodology preserves voice difference rather than flattening it. Three populated identity examples for cold testing. Six LinkedIn posts published in his own name in the week before submission as receipts. He openly broke the no-copywriting rule and addressed it head on with the spirit-over-letter argument.
But here is the real reason. 👇
🛠️ Building the tool is no longer the only moat.
📣 How you capture what the tool does, how you show it working, how you build attention around it. That layer matters as much as the build now.
Ruben submitted a public sales page
(voiceprint.8signal.com), a video, a TypeScript intake site, live published artifacts in his own voice as proof, and a paid Done-with-You tier. He treated the submission as a product launch. Most of you built something genuinely useful and even some tutorials on them, perhaps some were truly better tools than rubens. Ruben treated his submission like the launch it was.
📺 The content I am releasing over the next month is going to be largely about exactly this.
Folder-based specialists are getting easier to build. The differentiator going forward is how operators capture, package, and distribute them internally inside a company or externally to the wider world. Sales pages. Videos. Receipts. Calibrated demos. Paid tiers. The tool is where it starts. Shipping it well is where most people stop short.
🎉 Ruben, congratulations. Prize will go through as soon as we get your payment details. |
🔥 Everyone else who shipped: this is the bar now. Week 4 raises it.
🚀 LFG.
