Jake released the awesome ICM Architect. I also wanted a solid reference full of examples, projects, tools, and templates. Basically a way to find and apply the stuff served up over Tea and in community posts.
So I put together the ICM Field Guide!! I’ve updated it with what I’m using now.
- Architect builds and restructures the workspace.
- Field Guide is the giant reference shelf next to it. The guide is itself structured with ICM. It now has 57 Markdown files, including:
- 14 applied patterns covering client delivery, content production, research, company knowledge, training, and more.
- 15 project examples showing how those ideas relate to real projects and community demonstrations.
- References to workflow kits and templates, including Workflow Audit, Workspace Blueprint, Team Graph, and the Vault Toolkit.
- Decision tools and implementation references to help connect an idea to a practical approach.
What’s new since I first shared it:
- A pattern for understanding an existing repo or workspace and what a change could affect.
- A Clief Notes AI librarian example for navigating a learning library.
- Four practical aids: “Should this be ICM?”, worked decisions, a handoff brief for Architect, and a card for checking the guide in your agent environment.
- More guidance for working with outside sources, existing business systems, and software dependencies.
The examples and kit references explain what each is useful for. The original course materials and template packages stay with their sources.
