Drafting at F1 speeds
Drafters, have you ever been in the zone?
That space where time stands still
Cranking on drawings like you’re an F1 driver
One hand on the mouse, the cursor flying all over the screen
The other hand on the keyboard, hammering the short cut keys
Zooming in and out on the monitor
Eyes darting all over the screen, taking it all in, acting on reflex
Lines appearing on the screen, arcs and circles follow
Copy, offset, extend and trim, the layout taking shape
Dimensions and notes populating the drawings
The full image coming into view
Two hours pass in the blink of an eye
You start to pull back on the gas, taking stock of where you are
Plan view and elevations done, section views started
Time to take a break, step out of that F1 machine
I'm going to be adding training videos to learn the software and how to develop clear and strong sets of drawings for your clients.
