Gmail can now schedule meetings for you
We've all become familiar with tools like Calendly for booking meetings, but they've always made me uneasy. They tend to throw your calendar wide open. A few months ago, I found myself in a situation where, even though I was trying to manage my availability, I ended up doing 35 meetings a week. That's just not sustainable. In Gmail, the Gemini feature now helps you schedule emails in a way that gives you much more control. I think this is a great example of AI being genuinely useful. When all the noise about futuristic, high-concept AI settles down, it's tools like this that will prove g genuinely beneficial. Have you tried this yet, or are you sticking with other ways of booking meetings? Find out more

Friday fun - ChatGPT and poisonous berries!
This is just a bit of fun, but it's also quite a nice reminder to be very cautious with leaving AI output if you haven't put a lot of work into your prompt.

Google launches free social content generator called Pomelli
There's often a lot of fear about how Google feels around AI-generated content. And when they're launching social media content generation tools like this for us to use, the question gets complicated. This is quite a neat idea though. You can teach this new system your brand rules and then quickly generate social content. I've not tried it yet. I'm going to give it a whirl and let you know what I think. ChatGPT wants to put fingers in all your company pies
Now that I’ve seen it written out, I’m not sure that’s the right title. Still, it’s a fascinating area in the development of AI at the moment. I’ve been thinking about building something manually that connects to several parts of my company: standard operating procedures, meeting notes, and my CRM. The idea is simple. I can already go and look for information in these sources myself, but if I could just use a chat interface to query all my company data, it could save a huge amount of time. That said, I still feel a bit uneasy about it. We use ChatGPT and other conversational AI tools every day to generate ideas and get quick answers, and products like Notebook LM are excellent for building data projects. But are we really ready to let ChatGPT in through the back door, the front door, and all the windows of our companies? Read all about it here

Reviews Disappearing Within Google
This might alarm some people, but it’s always worth remembering that Google isn’t perfect. As a massive organisation, they occasionally lose things. I’ve seen Google reviews disappear before, sometimes all of them vanish, only to quietly reappear later without any explanation. It’s a timely reminder that any information not stored offline, or at least saved to your own computer, isn’t really yours to rely on. The full story
