Wow, please tell me more! One of my businesses is a coffee roastery, and many of my customers have asked me about doing a tasting session, which I think is a great idea - just a lot of work to set up! Where are you based?

@Tracy Gilchrist shame it's so far from me, but if you ever do an evening in Ipswich or Colchester, I'd love to attend. Any recommendations for a bargain white wine at Waitrose? My friend and I are into viognier and sancerre at the moment as well as cremant. If you love coffee, let me know and I can give you some suggestions.
Google launches free social content generator called Pomelli
There's often a lot of fear about how Google feels around AI-generated content. And when they're launching social media content generation tools like this for us to use, the question gets complicated. This is quite a neat idea though. You can teach this new system your brand rules and then quickly generate social content. I've not tried it yet. I'm going to give it a whirl and let you know what I think. Interested to hear your thoughts once you've tested it. I tried out "Marblism" this week, hiring AI employees - one of which being a social media manager - which was only slightly better than a dog turd. Awful. One thing I was impressed with tho, was the AI call answerer - very impressed actually. Seriously, why isn't every doctors surgery using this tech?! I trained it with my coffee busienss, and it was good to talk to, it learned my products, had interesting things to say, could recommend products based on tasting profiles etc and the conversation wasn't tiresome. Yes, it was an american accent bot, and yes, it was clearly AI, but, it wasn't a useless robot and after just half an hour training it, I was completely blown away by it. However, I don't need it for my business, so I got a refund, because, I was only interested in the social media management.
Gmail can now schedule meetings for you
We've all become familiar with tools like Calendly for booking meetings, but they've always made me uneasy. They tend to throw your calendar wide open. A few months ago, I found myself in a situation where, even though I was trying to manage my availability, I ended up doing 35 meetings a week. That's just not sustainable. In Gmail, the Gemini feature now helps you schedule emails in a way that gives you much more control. I think this is a great example of AI being genuinely useful. When all the noise about futuristic, high-concept AI settles down, it's tools like this that will prove g genuinely beneficial. Have you tried this yet, or are you sticking with other ways of booking meetings? Find out more

35 meetings in a week?! Gosh! One question...Why?!
Friday fun - ChatGPT and poisonous berries!
This is just a bit of fun, but it's also quite a nice reminder to be very cautious with leaving AI output if you haven't put a lot of work into your prompt.

Really interesting show on Channel 4 - "Will AI take my job". Recommended! As I heard someone recently say, if you compare AI evolution the that of the mobile phone... we haven't reached the flip phone yet.
What do you get from business exhibitions?
I was at the 4N Business Expo in Ely today, and I went without any specific goals but I met lots of really interesting people and it was a great event. Do you make a beeline for business exhibitions or do they leave you a bit cold?

If you're an exhibitor, sometimes the most effective (business building) networking is with other exhibitors - as you're on an equal footing with them, not seen as a target. I avoid attending expos unless I'm in the market for something specific.
