New cat wheel!
My partner and I just had a new cat wheel delivered yesterday, and I wanted to share my excitement! We had one given to use for free which had been passed between owners whose cats weren’t that interested in it. It was 3 feet wide and wooden. It was great for our cat, Teemo, when he was a kitten/teen, but it was a little small for him as an adult. He could walk or do a little trot on it, but clearly struggled to go full speed like he wanted to. It was also pretty loud, which made it difficult to hear the TV or sleep while he was on it. The one we just bought is 4 feet wide and plastic. It was from the company One Fast Cat for $199. The price made us hesitate to buy it for a while, but we finally made the decision to upgrade. So far, we and our cats love it! Teemo is starting to build the confidence to go faster. Our other cat, Daffy, is interested in it unlike her disinterest with the old one, but Teemo is still learning to share with her. It’s also much much quieter. I’m going to share some videos so y’all can see it in action. Plus a video of them trying to go on it at the same time which I found hilarious. They seem more motivated at this point when I give them verbal encouragement, so the audio is a little annoying, but I’m leaving it in so y’all can hear the noise level. I’ll try to post updates on how their confidence going faster goes and how well the wheel holds up. Do any of y’all have wheels for your cats? If so, how was your experience with them?

Sharing beds
So, over the past couple of weeks, me and my partner have been trying to spend more and more time in our living room to utilize our tv. The kitties like to follow us everywhere, so they followed us to the living room. Context: Teemo likes is an independent cat and values his alone time, he’s often in the living room by himself, in our bed by himself, or just in the closet. He also has a special spot for each location. The special spot for the living room is his bed. Now, Daffy our black cat is glued to us, the complete opposite. With the added time spent in the living room she has also spent more time there and that was one of Teemo’s alone time spots. Now, they love to cuddle here and there, but there’s currently only 1 bed in the living room and Daffy has been taking it from Teemo. They will sometimes cuddle in the small bed, but after a while it’s often a source of fighting. I need another cat bed 😂
