Who am I and what is ā€œAn Animal's Mindā€
My name is Jose Llanas. I am a licensed veterinary technician (LVT), which is equivalent to a nurse, but in veterinary medicine. The biggest hurdle I came across trying to fulfill my dreams is often the hardest to overcome for someone in my shoes: time and finances. The pay of LVTs nationwide is not the best, but life is manageable through budgeting. My lifelong career goal is to be a DVM, DACVB, MPH, but that is far into the future. I have been in the veterinary field for almost two years, and in that short time, I have noticed a point of contention. That point of contention is centered around not having enough time with the veterinarian to ask important clarifying questions or just questions in general, and the high cost of going to the vet. Right now, I am just an LVT with a special interest in animal behavior, teaching, and helping people. I do not have much insight into starting a non-profit or online community. I only have a vision, a dream, and a desire to help. I'm getting this ball rolling by starting this community, but help would be awesome. Eventually, I would like to train technicians and other people who like to teach and want to help. QUESTIONS: Want to know more about your pet and your pet’s health? Want to get more information on a specific disease? Want to attend a small class centered around niche topics, such as vaccines, diet, allergies, or enrichment? Want to help fund? Donation link in my Linktree (Food, cleaning, and housing supplies for animal shelters, etc) I have a dream of owning and operating a non-profit focused on and centered around education about medical illnesses, behavior, nutrition, and finding access to care that would address these issues. Opening this ā€An Animal’s Mindā€ community is one way I can think of for funding this dream of mine. Are you on board?
