Top Notch – Review
Top Notch holds a special place in my collection. It was a gift from my fiancée, who went out of her way to get it for me from another country. That alone means a lot — and the fact that the perfume itself is genuinely excellent makes it even more special.
The opening is bright and fresh, led by a clean citrus presence that feels uplifting without being sharp. As it settles, the fragrance starts to warm up, becoming softer and more luxurious. There’s a smooth sweetness that develops naturally, giving the scent a calm, refined character.
What stands out to me most is how gentle it is. It’s one of the smoothest perfumes I’ve worn overall — nothing feels aggressive or overwhelming. The sweetness doesn’t dominate; instead, it ties everything together and creates a sense of harmony.
The amber fits the composition perfectly, adding warmth and depth, while the oud subtly rounds everything out. It doesn’t overpower the scent — it simply adds that needed Arabic touch, making the fragrance feel richer and more grounded.
To me, Top Notch feels like an Arabic interpretation of a Western-style fragrance. You still get the citrus and lavender brightness, but it’s balanced with oud and amber in a way that feels elegant, gentle, and well thought out. It’s refined, comforting, and effortlessly classy — which is exactly why it’s currently my favorite in my collection.
