Tom Ford Grey Vetiver - Was going to be SOTD but...

I was finally giving my decant of Tom Fords' Grey Vetiver a go today. After the initial spray, the only thing I could think of was Ron Burgundy smelling Brian Fantanas' Sex Panther and saying "Stings the nostrils". Pretty rough, screechy and bitter in the opening but is does dry a bit smoother. I've given a few other Vetiver forward fragrances a try but I realize it's not a note that I'm drawn to. Something about it just puts me off. The other test was I had my wife smell it before she went to work and she scrunched her nose and said "It smells like an old man". Granted, we're in our 50s so she must mean 'old as dirt" - lol. I know a lot of people say its a 'refined' fragrance but if this is what it smells like, I don't want to be refined. 😉 Needless to say - I washed it off and put on Boss The Scent Magnetic. It's not a bad fragrance, just not for me.
