SOTD: Zaharoff Signature Tabac
Wore Signature Tabac today and logged it throughout the day to see how it evolves on skin.
First spray: ~12:06 p.m.
Opening:
Right away, this feels exactly like it’s meant to be worn in a cigar lounge. You get the booziness from cognac and rum, paired with a leafy tobacco rather than a heavy cigar tobacco. The tobacco is soft and natural, not harsh. I also pick up a bit of sweetness from the gold honey, which rounds everything out nicely. Overall, a very pleasant and inviting opening.
~30 minutes in (around 12:39 p.m.):
This becomes a subtle, downplayed tobacco scent. The tobacco is still there, mixed with honey and sweetness, but it’s more like pipe tobacco than cigar tobacco. It’s creamy, slightly smoky, and smooth. It honestly reminds me of being at my cigar lounge, but without the heavy smoke in your face.
~3 hours in (around 3:21 p.m.):
At this point, it’s mostly a skin scent. The fragrance transitions from that honeyed sweetness into a more ashy, semi-incense, dry tobacco profile. Projection drops off, but the scent itself smells very natural and refined.
Final drydown (around 6:12 p.m.):
About 6+ hours in, I’m noticing a dry woody tobacco character. There’s a bit of that Thai-style woody dryness, not animalic at all. The sweetness from the honey is gone, which is expected this far into the wear. The tobacco is still detectable, especially in areas with less airflow like the crook of the elbow.
Overall:
Signature Tabac is a beautifully done tobacco fragrance. It’s soft, refined, and realistic. Not loud, not aggressive, and definitely not a beast mode scent. If you like pipe tobacco, cigar lounges, and subtle smoky woods, this hits the mark. Performance is moderate, but the scent itself is classy and well executed.
