SOTD- Parfums de Marly Haltane

This one has quickly risen to top five in my collection and is my overall favorite from the house.

I reluctantly wore this to the office today fearing it may be too strong. My only regret is not rocking it to work sooner. It was a star and I am continually surprised by its versatility and unexpected freshness.

To me, Haltane is a sweeter version of Initio's Oud for Greatness and the heavy hitters are the praline and oud notes. I will defer to the other brothers who have more experience with oud than I do, but my guess is that this may be a synthetic oud because it is so light, sweet, and wearable. I could be wrong; the note breakdown does list natural agarwood. Either way, it's done exceptionally well.

Other notes include clary, sage, lavender, and bergamot in the top; saffron and cedarwood in the mid; and leather, patchouli, and vetiver in the base.

Until today, Haltane was only in my night out, casual weekend wear rotation. However, it can be pulled off day or night, office, home, or night out. Just adjust the sprays accordingly because performance is great. I only did 4-5 sprays this morning and I am still smelling it nine hours later. Medium projection for the first three hours; softer but still noticeable thereafter. Fall and winter banger but could be pulled off in spring. I could see it becoming cloying in summer heat pretty quick.
