SOTD: Après l’Amour & Intrigue by Abu Zari
Good Morning Frag Fam
After a couple days of that bone-chilling single digit weather here in Chicago, we’re finally “warming up” into the 40s today… and honestly, I’ll take every bit of it lol. The sun peeking through makes it even better. Got a full slate ahead—busy day at work, celebrating my wife’s birthday, and gearing up for out-of-town guests this weekend. All blessings, all good energy.
My scent of the day is Après l’Amour by Thomas Kosmala, layered with Intrigue Perfume Oil from the house of Abu Zari to give it more depth, richness, and staying power. This combination is really doing something special.
In the opening, I’m getting that sparkling citrus brightness with a clean, almost effervescent quality that immediately lifts the mood. There’s a subtle spice woven in that keeps it from feeling too airy. As it settles, the florals come through softly—not overpowering, just enough to add a smooth elegance—blending seamlessly into that musky backbone this fragrance is known for.
The magic really happens in the dry down. The Intrigue oil adds a deeper, slightly resinous warmth and enhances those musky, slightly animalic undertones, giving the whole composition more body and presence. There’s a faint sweetness lingering in the background that rounds everything out beautifully without ever becoming cloying.
Projection is solid with this layering—noticeable but not overwhelming—and the longevity is definitely boosted. I’ve got a nice scent bubble going that feels clean, sensual, and just a bit mysterious.
This is one of those blends that feels versatile—fresh enough for the daytime grind but with enough depth to carry into the evening festivities.
Make it a fantastic day, family. Stay warm, stay blessed, and smell amazing doing it 👊🏾
