It’s been exactly a month since i last reviewed a fragrance. Time flies huh? Also About the experiment i mentioned last night in my post was basically checking if applying a thing layer of oil helps with the performance of the fragrance. I couldnt say for sure but it did help with the dryness of my skin. I think I’ll be doing that often for the general upkeep of my skin barrier.Now back to topic, i mentioned multiple times how loewe esencia edp is one of my favourite loewe frag and a top 15 fragance OAT for me. Thats the main reason i went ahead and got a sample of esencia elxir. People online compared it to aventus absolu and luckily i recently gave AA a try so im more clear with this comparision part. SO here it goes.Opening is very reminiscent of the esencia edp mixed with the mids of AA but simplified. I loved the herbacious vibe of AA and this encapsulates it pretty well in its own version. The official note breakdown has only 3 notes: Patchouli, Amber and Vetiver. But i can also smell some citrus, leather, Mossy woods and some barbershop nuances. Kinda reminds me of Cedrat Boise too. Noticably Harsher than the EDP for me but its getting normal as its drying down. The drydown is very generic and linear for me this time.

Performance is good. Lasted close to 8hrs for me and its still a skin scent so i assume itll go on for 2 more hors before it fades away. Strong projector and sillage but not room filler. Great performer like the EDP.

If i were to pick between edp and elixir i might still go with the edp. Its earthy, mossy, memorable and a slightly better performer. Ive also heard that the edps oil concentration is higher than that of elixir which is funny to me.

That said its a great fragrance. Opening was the high and then it was a sinking ship. Maybe it’s my skin not ready for fragrances yet and im noticing a loss of smell and taste. Hopefully it’s not permanent but it’s not like how it was before. Still making changes in life to solve this but I guess it’ll

Overall ill give this a 8/10. Could change in the future and there might be a better fragrance out there with this backbone but not a top 3 Loewe release imho.
