I hated the first time i wore this one.

Today i wore it after my failed attempt with lacoste L.12.12 blanc EDP. Thought id revisit a fragrance that i previously hated and the first thing that came to my mind was this. I was fully expecting to be disappointed again but i was actually surprised.

The opening this time was this fruity and fresh. I see that there are a lot of notes but i can only pin point a few. In the opening itself i got a whiff of mango, the warmth of cardamom and some violet. The fragrance develops a bit linear for me because i can still smell the mango 5 hrs in. After a while the vanilla, amber and teakwood comes in. Everything is blended so smoothly that it’s hard to pick notes as it dries down. The main notes i can use to describe it is mango, vanilla and teakwood.

This is a smooth, deep, masculine and fruity fragrance. It’s a good balance between youthful and masculine. People are calling at the mango sauvage but I have no personal experience with the sauvage line. A bit synthetic but I feel that gives it it’s personality. A bit syrupy as well, but not so much that it is cloying or headache inducing.

Performance is good. My body is a bit on the colder to touch side this evening and still it projects. 3 sprays is all i needed. 5 hrs in i can still smell my arm which is half a foot away. I can assume it will last for another 3 hours minimum. So no complaints with the performance.

I believe I have been very harsh with my first impressions, but I am somewhat thankful that I have proven wrong and didn’t expect my nose to develop so fast. I rate this much higher than I used to and im glad i didn’t throw or give this sample away. This one is a classic story of enemies becoming best friends after a bad first impression.

Overall i would give it a very humble score of 8.7/10. Bit synthetic and there’s scope for improvement with more wears and perhaps i get to smell the other notes. Seems to be on the cheaper side and only known among the frag community which is a positive.
