First Impressions: RDZ Parfums - Capicu
New release as of 9/19 and one that had me from first time I saw the notes list. It’s supposedly based on Puerto Rican Dominoes. Naturally, I preordered it and it marks my third full bottle from RDZ Parfums, joining P FKN R and El Coqui in my collection.
It was set to come in Wednesday but arrived a few days early. I was excited, but when I first sprayed it on a test strip, I was hit with a surprising bubble gum like sweetness. It smelled like chewed up bubble gum before its loses its flavor. I was admittedly a little bummed, but decided I wanted to get it on skin sooner than later. On skin it transforms into something entirely different; rich, complex, and captivating. As a fan of plum, Capicu really delivers with a juicy, sophisticated plum note that weaves seamlessly into a vibrant composition. The much talked about “cocaine note” is a provocative metaphor; a powdery, slightly edgy accord that adds intrigue without any literal illicit substances. Rest assured, no drugs involved. Capicu’s unique blend of fruity depth and daring flair makes it a standout, cementing RDZ’s knack for crafting unforgettable scents. I don’t really get all of the listed notes, but it’s so well blended and addictingly smooth.
No performance, sillage, or longevity stats as this is a first impression that I’ve only been wearing for a couple hours, but rest assurd this extrait sits well on the skin. It’s not a monster, but should have solid sillage and excellent longevity.
