Decant Supplier Review - DecantX

First Up: DecantX. I’ve ordered from DecantX a couple of times and their website is laid out very nicely. They have an extensive selection (well over 2800) of the most common fragrances, designer as well as niche. They break out the fragrances into several different groupings like by gender, brands, occasion, scent family, etc. Available sizes are 2ml, 3ml, 5ml, and 10ml with the option of having an atomizer case at the 5ml size (pay extra).

As of this review, prices for a 5ml of some common frags are: Naxos (18.79), Layton (16.79), Angel’s Share (28.79) BR540-EDP (24.79), Aventus (20.79) and Cedrat Boise (14.79). The sample I purchased for these reviews is Cedrat Boise - 5ml.

Pricing of representative sample frags was way lower than the group average while pricing across their samples was also way below average. There aren’t any perks that I see, like membership or points for discounts. I do see discount codes for 15% off that are readily available on the internet! Shipping options are limited, with a free standard selection, or extra pay for expedited. DecantX also works with SHOP, a free app that helps you securely sign in, helps track your packages, and rewards you in SHOP Cash for purchases made using the SHOP app. That’s a perk in of itself!

After discounts and standard shipping, my total cost at DecantX was 13.45 USD which was just below the average of 14.63 amongst the five decanters, ranking third overall. I ordered on Monday afternoon and received my package the following Monday (FL to FL). Shipping packaging was a standard pliable envelope that always makes me worried about the contents. The decant is a standard 5ml glass vial whose cap was tightly wrapped with tape. A nice printed label, but no indication as to batch number of the original fragrance. The standard shipping was through USPS Ground Advantage which is now insured up to $100.

So far, my experience with DecantX is just average. I received emails when I made the order, when the order was shipped, and when the order was delivered. Shipping time seemed long, considering it’s within my home state. Shipping and decant packaging was also on par with most everyone else. Joe Average take: Middle of the road decanter although most frag prices were among the cheapest in the group. SCORE 6/10
