I've been crazy busy with work, but I finally have time off for a few days before going back into the fray. I also lost a big contract today, so I will have a bit more free time for a while until I pick up something new. So to cheer myself up, I figured I'd share what was under the tree for me this year. I also want to thank and for Balle Rouge. Apparently, it arrived a while back, but my mom assumed it was a Christmas present and wrapped it under the tree, LOL. I didn't realize what it was until I saw the packing slip my mom kept with it. It's my second from the house - the first, Amberique, I won a couple of years ago in the monthly giveaway contests we used to have. I appreciate the gesture, and I can't wait to give it a few wears. So here's what I got. One of my "gifts" was a life-sized "Thing" prop with a poseable armature inside that allows me to move and shape the fingers. I bought it back in August from a movie prop house in LA, with the intention to use it in a Morticia Addams pinup for Halloween, but it didn't arrive, and the shoot got cancelled, and I promptly forgot about it. It showed up on my doorstep on December 23rd, just in time for Christmas and to creep out my nieces and nephews, LOL. Thing is helping me display my fragrances, so I went a little moody with the photo.
From L to R:
Back Row:
Mes Bisous Balle Rouge from Antonio and Renato. I'm excited to try this one.
Heretic Perfumes Season of the Witch Discovery Kit. I'm already in love with Häxan and will be making that my next pick up from the house the next time it goes on sale. Not pictured is the sample of Scandalwood they also sent, and that one will also be going on my wish list.
Middle Row:
City Rhythms St Johns Prive. So excited to wear this come summer. I love 8641, and this is the other half, combined with Puerto Rico.
Mauboussin Pour Lui Cristal Oud. My third from the house. It's very oud and rose forward. Not sure I like it as much as Star and UHLI, but it's still very nice.
Rayhaan Crimson (far right next to the discovery kit). A clone of Creed Centaurus. I sprayed a test on my hand, and two days later it still smelled like Centaurus. Absolute beast. I love the Centaurus profile but refuse to spend money on Creed, so this is a great pick up and lovely gift from my mom.
Front Row:
Heretic Perfumes Nosferatu. A gift from one of my clients (not the one I lost), it's already become a favorite.
Maison Margiela Replica Under The Stars. I picked this one up for a song, and it was my gift to myself. I love this leather fragrance, and the 1oz is a perfect way to experience it without having a giant bottle on my shelf.
Montagne Eau Noire. I got this during the Black Friday sale, and it took a few weeks to arrive. It's a clone of Le Labo The Noir 29. It's resting in perfume jail until it matures enough to wear.
Dua Crater. Another Black Friday purchase that took forever to arrive. It's a clone of Grand Soir. Only after I bought it did I realize I also have Lattafa Eternal Oud, which is also a clone. But I think Crater is much better than Eternal Oud, which puts its own spin on the fragrance profile.
Sarah Jessica Parker Covet. This was a gift from my goddaughters. It actually smells a bit like Nosferatu, but more wintery than spring. The description they gave me was that it smells like a witch's cottage, and they know I like spooky, dark things, so they thought it might be a good gift. Coming from them, it is the best gift in the world.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas. Here's to a new start and a new year. May it be better than last year, but not as good as next year.
