Carolina Herrera
I may have shared this story before. This was the first fragrance I ever purchased. It was released in 1991. I think I bought it in 93. I purchased it from a store called Shabbaz. The perfumer would mix concentrated oils to "clone" all the designer fragrances. He sold it to me in a little rectangular bottle, it was maybe 20ml. It was so strong that you just needed a small drop on your skin and you'd be set for the rest of the day. That's probably part of the reason that I think this new formulation is so much weaker than I remember. I also haven't worn this since that bottle ran out about 30yrs ago. With that said, this is a good fragrance. The lemon on the open is a bit harsh, but that fades fairly quickly. What's left is a mix of spice and herbs and tobacco. The tobacco note is very authentic, if you've ever stuffed fresh tobacco in a pipe you'd immediately recognize the scent. At the base it's smooth and round, and has hints of leather, although that's not listed as a note. I probably used about 9 sprays of this and the initial projection was pretty good maybe 2-3ft lasting maybe the 1st hr. I'm 7hrs in and it's just barely a skin scent now. But for a $35-40 fragrance I don't feel that's bad. I wouldn't rush out to buy this, but if you like tobacco scents this is a good one. In reverence for our discussion about the banality of the 1-10 rating system, I will be rating this with emoji. I give this -
