Amouroud Golden Oud and La Rose Noir
These were sent to me by a brother to try and get my thoughts.
Golden Oud opens very powdery sweet and musk for me. From there it stays. Strong yet synthetic. I want to like it but it never gives me a soul. Just never did it for me.
La Rose Noir opens very sharp floral. Rose and geraniums maybe a slight woody note also.
After it smoothed out I wrote some rose/geraniums but leaning amber with a mild earthy vetiver. Saffron!!!! Grandma smells…. this gave me frustration as it had no middle to it. Either top or base.
So overall what were my thoughts? I never got an “oud”. Only synthetic and headaches. I can see where these might be for some people but for me absolutely not FBW.
