"Success leaves clues." – Tony Robbins
On today's #BelieveWalk, I was reminded that anytime we're doing something brand new, we should ask who else is doing it and what we can learn from them. Whether we were looking into optimizing our Spotify podcast or structuring the new #BelieveWalk Challenge, I realized that way smarter people have already figured it out. The real starting point should always be to model success, find people who have already done it at a high level, and then add your own creativity on top of it. Stop trying to figure it all out yourself!
Sam Walton famously spent his early career wandering through competitors' stores, writing down their pricing strategies and display layouts on a yellow notepad. He didn't invent the retail store; he modeled what worked best across the industry and optimized it to build Walmart into a global empire.
Don't start from scratch. Stand on the shoulders of giants, model what works, and then add your secret sauce to change the world! #Believe
