Wholesale Pricing and MOQ
Was just reached out to by a local landmark that wants to stock my book in their giftshop and they were asking about wholesale pricing and what the minimum order quantity would be. Anyone else around here ever price for wholesale? I've heard industry wholesale standard is 40%-55%, but as self-publishers, I'm curious what you've all found works for you.
It cost me $13.36 per book and their retail price is $25. I was thinking of offering a wholesale price of $15 with a minimum order of 5 books. Does that sound reasonable to offer? Should I ask for a higher MOQ?
When I did a consignment arrangement, a different bookstore asked for 5 books. I feel like that's a reasonable quantity, but I am curious to hear from others' experiences.
