B2B Cold Calling Using AI Voice (No Consent)
- Not legal unless you have prior express consent.
- As of February 2024, the FCC ruled that AI-generated voice calls are considered “artificial” under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
- All AI voice calls (even B2B) now require prior express consent — no cold calling allowed with AI voice.
So in short:
- ✅ Human cold calls to businesses? Legal.
- ❌ AI voice cold calls to businesses? Illegal without prior consent.
If you're using AI agents, you need to:
- Only call people who opted in or gave written/verbal consent.
- Consider using AI for warm follow-ups, database reactivation, or appointment reminders, where there's an existing relationship or consent.
