As part of the Upward Spiral, we asked everyone to drop one vice for the first month.
I chose Netflix. I don't think I watch it that much, certainly not every day, but I get into a headspace where I feel I need 'me' time at the end of the day. Some space just to sit and stop thinking and talking. So I'd often put the kids to bed and then get back up to watch some TV.
Now, regardless of what time I get to sleep, the kids wake early... usually between 5:30-6am. And as soon as they're awake, they're ready to go! Being pregnant means I'm more tired than usual, and I know how important sleep is for hormonal regulation, growing children, happiness, and everything in between... So this Netflix challenge, to me, was more about improving my sleep habits.
We're two weeks in, and I just thought I'd share my experience so far. My new bedtime is 7:30pm! Haha, I wouldn't have seen this coming. When I take Jesse to bed, I now just don't get back up. It means I'm getting an average of 10 hours of sleep instead of 6. It's been a total game changer.
Anyone else having any positive ripple effects?
