So many women work hard but still feel frustrated and frumpy—and it usually comes down to a few sneaky misunderstandings:
Misconception 1: “I just need recipes.”
Recipes help, but they only take us part way.
The rest relies on CONSISTENCY, CONVENIENCE and SYSTEMS that work for your actual life. Get help with a system that fits with your lifestyle otherwise, it won’t be sustainable—that leaner look and the clothing fit we crave, will always feel out of reach.
Misconception 2: “I need to lift weights at a certain intensity, duration and style to finally lose fat.”
Muscle is metabolism; muscle protects our brains and bodies. Muscle means less sag and squish. The efficiency at which we build muscle is determined by intensity, duration and technique but FAT LOSS and that toned look that women want, is driven by nutrition. Lifting is your non-negotiable background operating motor. What we eat, and how much we eat, is our steering wheel -we can't get to where we wanna go without it.
Misconception 3: “I need to wait until I’m less busy or not injured”
Health (which includes your body composition goals) isn’t an event. It’s hygiene—like brushing your teeth. If you wait for your schedule to calm down or your injury to heal, your energy, mood, and body are already drifting in the opposite direction. Lower the commitment, shrink your expectations, and start today. Every day you delay, makes the journey a little steeper and more arduous. Action alleviates anxiety and even ignites potential for acceleration. (Ditch the all or nothing mentality, the analysis paralysis, and the desire to be perfect vs awkward, clunky and messy. You can than me later😘)
Misconception 4: "I'm exempt from having to do the internal work. I just need to be told what to eat and how to exercise."
We cannot get lighter on the outside and maintain the "look" we desire if our insides are still heavy. We won't look better nor feel better mentally and physically. Examining your "why" and developing habits are based on rewiring beliefs that keep us stuck. Habits equal consistency and consistency equals sustainable results. In order to develop habits, a deep inner cultivation combining work and healing needs to occur. Without this as our foundation, all efforts and results are fleeting. I say this from a place of continual humble learning and transformation as I too, have not yet "arrived."
