Non-technical founder seeking advice on building an MVP
Hi everyone, I’m new to this community. 👋 I’m nontechnical, and I want to bring my idea to life so I’m looking for some guidance. My idea is to build a simple web app that generates images for users. From what I understand, it would need: - a front end - a backend - a database - a paywall At this stage, I only want to build enough to validate my idea. I’m not sure if this is the right design or if I’m missing important parts. I have a few questions and would really appreciate your advice: - Is this the right approach for an MVP to make it as a web app? - What important parts am I missing? - As a non-technical person, can I realistically build this myself by learning from videos, or are there serious technical challenges I won’t be able to handle alone? - If I decide to hire a developer, what questions should I ask to make sure they’re capable of building this project? - What are the major red flags or risks in web app development that I should know before starting? - For idea validation what is a realistic budget, or are there hidden costs (especially for AI image generation) that non-technical founders usually don’t know about? - And what other question do I need to ask myself? Thanks a lot for your time and help. I’m here to learn.
Can I use OpenAI's codex as a substitute for Google AI Studio
Hi guys I am insanely new to the world of app development or any sort of development in general, I am picking this up out of my own interest, as well as to hopefully try to develop an app to help my Dad's business. I just watched Corbin's first video on techstack and I just came here as I wanted to check what would be the necessary tools I'd need. I know the video outlined it pretty well, but I'm very overwhelmed with information due to the amount of research I've done today, basically came across a bunch of reddit posts talking about using OpenAI's codex along with GitHub and Supabase to develop an app. Just hoping someone here could fill the gaps in my understanding for me, I am just wondering if the codex can substitute Google AI Studio and if the three tools I stated above is sufficient to develop an entire app. Greatly appreciate any responses.
Mobile app
I recently saw Corbin’s recent video about mobile UI. I am trying to build an app however I am not wanting to copy someone else’s interface which is radix. I have a completely new idea with a new interface and I’m really having issues understanding if the 10 lessons are all I need to know and follow for creating the mobile app. Or if I need to use a different tech stack and what to use if not radix or typescript for it because all I know is from Corbin’s videos really. Any help would be phenomenal thank you.
Supabase vs Firebase??
Hey Corbin (or anyone), why use Firebase instead of Supabase? Im trying to set my backend up and I was recommended to use Supabase so I set everything up before reaching the point in your video series where you used Firebase. Any reasons why I should use Firebase instead or any recommendations on how to make Supabase work? The disconnect in your instructions using Firebase is whats throwing me off and I want to make sure I'm not screwing anything up. Thanks
App vs. Website
I am currently using google AI studio to build an app that I want to put onto the App Store and google play store. Will I be able to put it out as an app as long as I hookup my back end and do everything else. Or is it just a website? Anyone with any info would be appreciated. Thank you!
