I have just completed the transfer of another app from Replit to Antigravity. That was the easy part and the necessary files were automatically built and changed. The deployment to Firebase hosting was where I hit a big wall. Despite using a couple of models, I hit my credit limit. This morning though the breakthrough finally occurred and the site is now live. I will look at pointing to my domain next. The main point here is that as a non-coder watching Antigravity work was absolutely fascinating. The skill of professionals must be deep and take years to learn to reach that standard. The great thing is I can look forward to Antigravity just getting better and better. I can focus on ideas and UIs rather than the technical backend coding.

And when I hit a limit, I used my Gemini API key to get more.

I kept running into Antigravity corrupting my files, especially when it tried to replace multi-line React blocks. It would duplicate the top of the file or break JSX. After a lot of trial and error, I found the fix. Here’s the simple version: ✔️ Why it happens The replace_file_content and multi_replace_file_content tools break when the AI tries to replace multi-line blocks. They mis-match the code region and overwrite the wrong area. ✔️ The Fix Put these rules in a .md file in your repo: Antigravity Fix for File Corruption 1. Avoid multi-line replacements. 2. Use single-line anchors for edits (target a unique line). 3. For large React files, rewrite the *entire file* and paste manually. Then when starting a session, tell Antigravity: “Please read and follow ./antigravity-rules.md.” Once I did this, Antigravity stopped corrupting files and fixed the broken components in one run.
