Let’s Talk About The Tabs 🔍
To keep things organized and make sure you’re getting the most out of ADHDpreneur, we’ve set up different tabs for specific topics. One rule that applies to this group as a whole. This isn't a "Oh I've heard this" kinda group. This is a group designed for us to share things that we have done in our lives that have actually made a difference. Here’s how each one works and what you can post in each: 1. General Discussion 💬 This is your go-to for general conversations about ADHD and entrepreneurship. Think of this as our virtual lounge. You can share stories, thoughts, struggles, or victories related to being an ADHD entrepreneur. Basically, anything that doesn’t fit into the other tabs goes here. Examples: - “What’s the biggest challenge you face in running your business with ADHD?” - “How do you handle distractions in your daily workflow?” 2. Memes 😆 Because let’s face it, ADHD moments often make for the best memes. We all need a good laugh, and this tab is just for that—ADHD-related memes that we can all relate to. Keep it light, keep it fun, and share away! Examples: - “When you’ve hyper-focused for 8 hours on a task you didn’t even need to do.” - Funny ADHD entrepreneur moments. 3. Routine ⏰ ADHDers know the struggle of sticking to routines. This tab is dedicated to building, sharing, and refining routines that actually work for people like us. Share your morning routine, tips for staying on track, or ask for advice on managing time better. Examples: - “What’s your morning routine for staying productive?” - “Struggling to get a consistent bedtime routine, any tips?” 4. ADHD Hacks 🧠 This is where we share the tips, tricks, and strategies that have made life and business easier for us ADHDers. Whether it’s apps, methods, or mindsets, if it helps you navigate ADHD in your entrepreneurial journey, drop it here! Examples: - “I started using Pomodoro timers, and here’s why it works for me.” - “Best ADHD-friendly project management tools?”

Mid-Day Workout for Focus & Energy Boost
I wanted to share my routine for recharging my focus and energy in the middle of the day. I've found that doing a mid-day workout makes a huge difference in my productivity and mental clarity, and it might work for you too. Here’s what my day looks like: - Morning Walk: I start my day (around 7am) with a 20-minute walk. It helps me wake up, get some fresh air, and sets a positive tone for the day. * I do live the PNW though so some winter walks are indoors. - Focused Work Until 1 PM: I eat a pre-made breakfast (this is key and will make a post about it later) dive straight into work after my walk and stay focused until lunchtime. - 45-Minute Mid-Day Workout: At 1 PM, I do a 45-minute workout session. It could be strength training, cardio, or a mix (The more sluggish I am feeling the more mindless the workout – super sluggish = treadmill set to a pace and distance I know I can do so it pushes me to actually have a good workout or fall off the back of the treadmill). I’ve noticed that this mid-day workout gives me a big energy boost and helps me regain focus. Why This Works: Apparently exercise increases the release of neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine—both of which are essential for focus and motivation. ADHD brains tend to be low on these neurotransmitters, which can lead to issues with attention and energy levels. By doing a workout in the middle of the day, I’m giving my brain that extra push to stay focused and productive in the afternoon. Would love to hear if this works for you or if you have other routines that help keep you focused!

A 5-Minute Rule for Beating Procrastination???
Starting tasks (especially one that isn't super fun) is a struggle for me, and as a business owner, that can put a real downer on growth and making progress. Like many of us I've tried a whole bunch of stuff to try to force myself into a task with little success. However, this 5-minute rule is something that has actually worked for me.. Well, 60 percent of the time, it works every time (congratulations if you got the reference there). The 5-Minute Rule involves telling yourself you’ll only work on something for 5 minutes. If after 5 minutes you’re still not feeling it, you can stop guilt-free and reschedule it for later in the day or week. Most of the time, though, you’ll get lost in an ADHD focus bout and actually get stuff done. 🔄 Actionable Step: First of all, when just getting started with new tools I find sometimes I forget to use them. Solution? Something to throw it in my face to use. I'm lucky enough to have a big glass whiteboard in my office, so writing on that really helps me. But, if you're on a budget or just don't vibe with a whiteboard, try a sticky on your desk or monitor and write something like "just try for 5 mins" or something that will either motivate you or pull on your heartstrings to give it a shot. Pick a task you’ve been procrastinating on and try the 5-Minute Rule today. Set a stopwatch (not a count down) for 5 minutes face down and dive in. That part is important, we don't want an alarm breaking our focus if we do get into it. 💡 Why this works: After a little looking on the interwebs the 5-Minute Rule works because it bypasses the anxiety associated with starting a task, which is a common struggle for people with ADHD. Once started, it becomes easier to keep going due to hyperfocus tendencies. This hack reduces the overwhelm, which is a major barrier for those of us with ADHD.
