Day 2
The mask I've been wearing most: People pleaser and performer. Both of those have led to some aspects of the invisible role, but the disappearing wasn't something I actively did.
It has cost me a lot. I have gotten a little better with the people pleasing, but not by much. I have played that role so long that I often find myself doing it before I even realize it. I walk around with this boiling gut full of resentment and anger, which are really self-defense against the hurt of it all.
What I loved as a kid (before the masks): drawing, coloring, painting whole worlds with casts full of original characters (comics were my big influence) and making mock radio shows in which I created stories, personalities and voices, goofy original songs.
Friction Audit complete, this are the exact steps I have to take for my open loops (voiceover auditions):
  1. 1. walk into the studio room
  2. 2. turn on the light
  3. 3. go into my booth
  4. 4. plug audio interface into computer
  5. 5. plug microphone and headphones into audio interface
  6. 6. turn on computer
  7. 7. open Adobe Audition
  8. 8. start a new file
  9. 9. get out scripts
  10. 10. check dB levels in Adobe Audition
  11. 11. relax, breathe and warm up with lip trills and scales
  12. 12. press record
  13. 13. read script
  14. 14. hit stop button
  15. 15. listen to playback
  16. 16. save the file
  17. 17. email the file (or not)
