❌ Stop using CapCut until you know what you’re agreeing to 😳
Okay, so CapCut just quietly updated their Terms of Service (around June 12–21) and it’s honestly a bit of a red flag, especially if you’re a content creator. Here’s the deal: When you edit or upload any content to CapCut and yes, even private drafts, you automatically give ByteDance (the company behind TikTok) and their partners: A perpetual, global, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, modify, share, repost, and even monetize your work.Including your face, voice, style, username, and anything else in your video.😱 And no. you DON'T get credit, and you DON'T get paid. Even if you don’t post it. Even if you delete your account later. That license still stands. If your in the UK or EU you’re a little safer. EU/UK consumer laws mean companies can’t just override your basic rights. So some of this may not hold up legally if challenged. BUT The TOS still says you give them those rights, and unless you fight it legally (aka hire a lawyer), they’re assuming they can use your content however they want. So it’s still… icky.🥲 You can still use CapCut. But the second you edit something inside it, they technically get rights over it, even if you never post it. That’s why many creators are switching platforms for safer control over their content. 👇What are you doing after reading this?👇

I honestly don’t know what to do about this. I’ve already paid for the year to have Pro, and now I don’t think I can get a refund
Push further or surrender?
Dearest community, I hope you’re all having a lovely week so far! I’m facing a bit of a conundrum as of late and I need some advice on the matter: An agency reached out to me for Herboxa and after having a brand call and discussion the details of what they wanted went great. After the call, I sent them an email with everything we spoke about to have it all in writing. They were going to provide me with a contract and the scripts for 3 videos to be done in Greek. I received the products 1 week later. (BTW, I reduced my price for 3 videos because they said they would provide me the scripts) So far so good, right? Well, now they have sent me the scripts 3 weeks later and they are in English. Which means that I will need to adjust them into native Greek, therefore I have to kind of write them and they STILL haven’t provided me with a contract. After I told them very professionally that since the scripts will need some time to be adjusted and the price was reduced because I wouldn’t need to spend time on them, I upped the price to close to the initial I provide. They told me they’d pay that if I agreed to upload the videos on my own socials. Also, I still haven’t received a contract from them and not only they told me they’d provide me one, but they’re complaining that we’ve lost too much time (in bold letters might I add) and they need them, while I’ve specified I need it for a more coherent collaboration. I refuse to put in the work without the contract because I’m not in the mood to get scammed, but does anyone else have any suggestions? Is there something I can work around and win in the end? Thanks a lot in advance!

@Nyomi Gootjes thank you so much for this Nyomi! I already drafted an email with everything you mentioned and am adjusting my contract to finally get this over with. Fingers crossed and thank you once again!
How much editing do you do?
Hey guys, I wanted to ask what's the "standard" amount of editing you do for paid work? Obvi there's putting the video together, but what about subtitles, adding graphics/music? I really hate doing all of these but just wondering what the industry standard is to see whether or not I should offer it as part of the deliverables :D

You can always tell them that they're extras, because when you add the subtitles, you have to go over them to make sure they're correct. Graphics are normally part of the editing process, so those should be included in the standard price (meaning raise it up) But always remember that the more editing you do, the more you can charge, because that's what showcases your work and how much it's actually worth :)
Negotiate?
Hey dear Community! So I outreached to a brand I wanted to work with, but they are interested in a barter collaboration. They are willing to send 2 items of clothing for 1 post and due to my budget not allowing me to do work for free and since I outreached to them I feel guilty in asking for money (yes, I’m working on that), I need your opinion on this matter: 1. Do I negotiate and tell them I can’t afford a barter collaboration, however I am willing to return the items they send me after the collab is over and get paid for the post? 2. Or do I give them a small price to pay and I keep the clothes they send me?

🚀 TikTok vs. Instagram: Which Platform Should You Choose?
Hey guys! 👋 I saw @Josie Simkova question in the community, and it’s SUCH a good one, so I had to jump on here and share my thoughts! 🎥 Watch this video to hear my full take on TikTok vs. Instagram. I’m breaking down: - Why TikTok is THE platform for inbounds. - Why I gave Instagram another shot after ignoring it for ages. - How to make Instagram super low-effort by repurposing TikTok content. - Why it’s so important to not put all your eggs in one basket (seriously). 👉 Also, if you wanna follow along with my journey (I’m literally starting from scratch on Instagram), here’s my handle: @ugcwithnyomi 💕 ✨ BTW: My UGC Strategy Guide is doubling in price in 5 days! 😱 It’s only $149 right now, but it’s going up to $297. If you’ve been thinking about grabbing it, now’s the time. 🚀 It’s got all the templates, 10 week step-by-step strategy, weekly assignements, and tips you need to land UGC deals + a free 1:1 call with moi:) 👇 Let me know in the comments – are you more into TikTok or Instagram right now? Or both? I’m so curious to hear where you’re getting the most inbounds! Let’s talk! 💬

🚀 TikTok vs. Instagram: Which Platform Should You Choose?

I don't know why, but I get most of my inbounds from Instagram. I received one from Chiquita (the bananas) in October and because they contacted me via email, I asked how they found me and they told me via Instagram. Mind you I only have 1.6k followers there. So using the necessary hashtags there, is equally important and having a clear Bio.
