These 3 Mistakes
Can cost first-time exhibitors, six figures in lost deals. Here’s what I wish someone told me sooner. If I could give every first-time exhibitor just THREE pieces of advice, it would be this: šŸš€ 1. The trade show floor is a battlefield. If you don’t stand out, you’re invisible. Bright colors, bold messaging, and an engaging experience are key. šŸ’” 2. Just because someone stops by your booth doesn’t mean they’re a lead. Your staff MUST know how to qualify visitors. Otherwise, you’re collecting junk leads. šŸ“© 3. Your success depends on what happens AFTER the show. Don’t let your leads go cold. Have an automated follow-up sequence in place. This is just the start. Want the full blueprint for trade show success? Then sign up here: https://lnkd.in/gCnd686U Do you have a post-show process to follow-up with leads QUICKLY after the show? Drop a comment below! šŸ‘‡

The sales teams I work with almost ALWAYS say they want a ā€˜drawing’ or a ā€˜game’ to draw people in and get leads…. Or even the marketing managers will set a KPI of a certain quantities of scans (not qualified leads)… There are no shortcuts. You want to scan your little heart out in the booth or fill up a drawing barrel ???? Then you’re going to be wasting time on the backend chasing junk leads. As to after the show — I’ve found that I actually sometimes have to get senior leadership involved to help shift a culture that might let weeks (month +) pass before they ā€œfind the timeā€ to review their leads and get them assigned for follow up. I believe you need to reach out NO LATER than 1 week after the show and that’s a bit long too (like how bad do you really want the business/commission?). For companies who have a decent CRM, I now push to send out an email that says ā€œthank you, we loved connecting with you at the show… you can expect our team to follow up within the next ___ daysā€ā€¦ At least they get some type on contact and don’t feel like they’ve gone into a black hole. TIMING IS EVERYTHING… because you have competition and the first one to follow up has the advantage
Mistakes = Progress.
If you want to grow, you must be willing to get things wrong, and learn fast. No mistakes means no growth, no new ideas, and no real wins. If you never miss a step, you are not pushing hard enough. You're not learning what works. You are not finding the edge that sets you apart. The real mistake is being afraid to make one. Life rewards those who move, adapt, and improve. The more you try, the more you learn. The more you learn, the more you win. Mistakes are not the end. They are the start of something better. Do you agree or disagree?

Mistakes are REQUIRED to actually become who you are meant to be. If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not growing.
RED FLAGS! In your opinion: What words SCREAM "AI wrote this"?
In my opinion, the following terms and words scream that AI wrote the article/comment: - "Your insights..." - when commenting - "The brutal truth is:..." - in a post - "Your experience highlights..." - when commenting What are some words or phrases that make you wonder if the post/comment was written by ChatGPT, or human? I assume many of you will be using AI to help generate content, or content ideas, so I think it would be helpful to others to know what words/symbols are RED Flags.

@Diana Lewis Yikes — I actually have used dashes in my non-AI writing for as long as I can remember….. might have to break that writing habit

Too many emojis for sure…. And you can often tell because it just doesn’t sound like a human would speak. I LOVE AI to inspire and do a first draft, but I always go back and refine the outcome

Hi, I’m Xan Renee šŸ‘‹ I’ve spent 20+ years in marketing and events, and have a passion for helping brands and people communicate with purpose. I’ve led activations of all sizes, from small $15K booths to >$1M+ corporate events. For the past 4 years, I’ve been supporting and collaborating with a major international corporation as an independent contractor on their event strategies. Unfortunately, new leadership has brought new ideas of how their budgets should be spent, and this contract will be coming to an end after January (If anyone has knowledge of a company who might need an event or marketing communications remote worker, please pass that along) My other passion is showing up as purpose coach (a.k.a. Dream Life Wing Woman) helping encourage and enable people to break free of the ā€œshouldsā€ society puts on us, and give themselves permission to start focusing on joy, align with their purpose and manifest their dream lives — I even written two books to share that mission. And finally - for the past 5 years my husband and I (and our fur babies) have been living a nomadic life as full time RVers, which we love with a passion. We’re working in the background to put the pieces in place to launch our next adventure — which I’ll share later. Here to learn, share booth wisdom, and connect with like-minded pros!

@Diana Lewis Wow! Great to virtually ā€œmeetā€ you. I’m certain I’ll be able to learn from you in this process! And BTW — we just moved our rig back to our winter hangout in Yuma AZ, so I’m kind of in your corner of the US for nowšŸ˜‰
