My baby
I’ve always wanted one of these and about a year ago I finally got the chance, she’s a 1997 USA custom 24 in near perfect condition except for the 3 ways switch and push pull pot mod (all the original parts were in the case). I had a SE single cut back years ago that I got cheap because it was sort of a project and I traded it for a tele… the tele was great but the that PRS SE was always the one that got away. Luckily I found this one and fell in love with it. I love the way the light hits it differently and the color with the flame looks like waves over sand on a shallow beach. I named her Calypso.

Gear acquisition syndrome
New Jake E Lee Blueburst. Help talk me out of it. I have the white one. I have no need for this one, but… I can’t eat, I can’t sleep. I can’t focus at work. I can only think of her. Even while playing guitar, I look down hoping to see blue burst. I need your help!

In all truth I’d be the voice that tells you to buy it. However I found a solution to my G.A.S. Lately I’ve been watching YouTube channels and videos where people nerd out and get excited about music theory and analyzing songs. This has kind of turned me from “oh I gotta get that pedal and try it out because I want a tone like [insert artist here]” to “oh that’s so cool I can’t wait to pickup my guitar and try this scale over some chords that [insert artist artist here] used on that song that sounds so innovative”. Don’t get me wrong I still drool over my favorite gear and love messing with my tone but this has definitely shifted my focus. Learning weird modes and scales and chord progressions to add to my personal style is way cheaper and more productive that buying gear. That being said… I also have a think for blue burst so I’d buy it lol

@Donovan Wedding Of course, how else would we know how the blue burst affects the tone 🤷‍♂️

A meme similar to the one below but instead of programmer put guitarist lol. I feel like we’ve all felt this, as soon as we think we’ve mastered something on our instrument we see a video or a performance that blows our mind.
one man's trash...
I changed out my son's old ceiling fan when the motor started making noise. The fan was from the early 80s and I just loved the vintage look of it. So I got an idea! and turned it into a new speaker cabinet for my amp. What do you think?

@Paul Smith love it!
Being a luthier.
I dont typically post a lot but as I go through school for lutherie, I have definitely learned a few things about guitar players. We all think we know everything about guitars (at least I felt like I knew most of it). We do not🤣 the more I repair instruments that people have attempted to repair before me, the more I have come to the conclusion that guitar players can tinker themselves into a hell of an expensive bill. My intent is not to ruffle feathers but to mearly point out the fact that as guitar players the quest for more knowledge and the need to customize things can really get us into trouble. Has anyone else had this with their own instruments?

I do some upgrades and repairs myself because I know how to solder. I will say though I have completely stopped doing my own setups. It’s very tedious and im kind of a perfectionist. When I pay my local tech, who I trust, to set up my guitars I don’t question it unless something wild stands out. However when I do it myself I tend to be a perfectionist and every little buzz or intonation issue bothers me and a 30 min practice session turns into 45 mins messing around with the setup lol
