Thank you for your service. I'm a USAF veteran. I don't have PTSD, so I can't really imagine what you're going through, though I do understand how PTSD can disrupt one's life. My wife has PTSD due to trauma she suffered through as a teenager. I have other service-related issues, namely constant tinnitus and some hearing loss from jet engines and other heavy machinery, despite double hearing protection. I really should see an advocate to find out if I can qualify for partial disability. I regularly see a therapist for personal issues and a psychiatrist for ADHD. Although I've been playing guitar and writing the occasional song since I was at level 18 -- I'm currently at level 63 -- it was only within the last three or four years that I learned that music therapy is a thing, along with exercise, puzzles, model building, adult coloring, and other forms of art. PS I'm not a big fan of using AI to write songs; I use it to help me out of writer's block when I get stuck on lyrics, and for musical ideas and different music genres to help me create my own music. That said, I loved your song. The music is haunting, and the lyrics are powerful. Keep creating. I'll be listening.

@Dennis Gaskill I need to go to the American Legion post and see if they have an advocate to help me apply for disability. I loaded munitions on F-16s. In addition to the hearing issues, I also have a partially torn labrum, rotator cuff, and biceps tendon in my right shoulder/arm, and some mild to moderate lumbar bulging discs in my back, all of which could be related to the heavy lifting I did during my military career. And, yes, I would be interested in your writer's block article.

I've been playing off and on for more than 40 years and I still have the "my fingers don't do what I want them to do" problem at times (usually because I haven't played in a while). The suggestion to record audio and or video of you practice sessions is sound advice that I should take to heart too. You'll find a wealth of information in this group. Glad you found us!

Most of the time, the mistakes are not noticeable to the audience, except for the super fans who know the lyrics to every song in the band's library and can hum the melodies without listening to them. And, of course, your bandmates will probably notice.
