one man's trash...
I changed out my son's old ceiling fan when the motor started making noise. The fan was from the early 80s and I just loved the vintage look of it. So I got an idea! and turned it into a new speaker cabinet for my amp. What do you think?

What a creative idea
Hand warm ups?
Due to my recent injuries in my hands from the auto accident, I’ve been wondering what do all of you do to loosen up strengthen and work with your hands or fingers when you’re not playing guitar to make them better? Give me some ideas of things I can do to help restrengthen my fingers. I tried playing three songs today and they hurt worse than I’ve ever experienced playing guitar!

@Gary Dillon I hope your hand heals up soon for you. Only thing I can say is try squeezing a tennis ball, years ago I did that for months to help increase grip strength doing a slow squeeze in and a slow release back with the ball. I personally started with sets of 10. Aside from all the advice everyone else gave me that’s the only thing I can think of to assist you. God bless and you keep healing!

Weekend plans
What is everyone doing this weekend? Playing a gig? Going to a show? Date night? Me personally, my wife is away, so I'll be playing so very loud.

Waiting for the 70’s to hit tomorrow so I can take my sport bike out for a spin. Since the hands are feeling better figured I test how long I can handle gripping the handlebars. Be a good test of how much better my hands are doing! Hope everyone else is having a kick azz weekend!
Maintenance
When it’s maintenance time what’s your preference? Luthier do all the repairs/maintenance or do you diy it? I prefer the luthier to a lot of the stuff but I’ll restring/tune my own bass.

After building my own guitar I will honestly leave the fret leveling and electronics to my local guitar shop repair guy. Everything else I do myself. Before building my own I had never developed a routine for my guitars I would occasionally wipe them and restring them but didn’t really fix or work on things unless it was a problem like a loose plugin or volume knob acting funky.
Songs in my heart
An amazingly and wondrous thing it is when a note and a sound inspires your to have a thought that becomes a word. Then it seem as though poetry ekes out. As you’re writing and a musical melody comes together you play and write it down. Sometimes it comes quickly, but other times slowly. But then, there it is, a composition. I thought that my writing and composing was okay but yet strange many times, until I heard a member of Chicago give his testimonial on the song 25 or 6 to 4. Robert Lamm explained how he got the first parts of his song. He was sitting And looking out his window at the skyline of the city lights, and as he was doing this he noticed the clock on the wall and that he was having trouble seeing it clearly, but that it was around 25 or 26 till 4 when he was looking at the lights of the city. Thus he thought he would just write it down so he could remember the time when he was thinking about what he was seeing. Not thinking that it’s really part of a song. Amazing how that happened. Here’s the first lines of the song. Waiting for the break of day Searching for something to say Flashing lights against the sky Giving up, I close my eye Sitting cross-legged on the floor 25 or 6 to 4 Never diminished the thoughts you’re having song writers. A personal testimony!??!? I was playing chords to a full song I wrote but no words. From the beginning to the end. My wife walked in the room and said, “play that again,” so I did, then she said to me, “ I have words to this song!” Thus the song name FREEDOM CAME TO EARTH. Thanks for hearing me out! I hope this encourages someone!! Kristopher Swenson 🎸🎶🎶🎸✝️🎶🎶🎸

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I know sometimes I have random riffs and lyrics just pop into my thoughts sometimes it just a line others it’s a whole verse. It usually happens when I’m not ready or expecting it. There has been times when I hear riffs but when I pick up my guitar I can’t seem to replicate it. Not sure how to capture this sometimes so I started using my voice recorder to capture new riffs. Then I go back and listen to them until I begin to hear lyrics that don’t sound cheesey! It’s usually then I’ll share it with the misses. If her feet start bouncing to what I’m putting down then I know I potentially have a decent song
