New cat wheel!
My partner and I just had a new cat wheel delivered yesterday, and I wanted to share my excitement! We had one given to use for free which had been passed between owners whose cats weren’t that interested in it. It was 3 feet wide and wooden. It was great for our cat, Teemo, when he was a kitten/teen, but it was a little small for him as an adult. He could walk or do a little trot on it, but clearly struggled to go full speed like he wanted to. It was also pretty loud, which made it difficult to hear the TV or sleep while he was on it. The one we just bought is 4 feet wide and plastic. It was from the company One Fast Cat for $199. The price made us hesitate to buy it for a while, but we finally made the decision to upgrade. So far, we and our cats love it! Teemo is starting to build the confidence to go faster. Our other cat, Daffy, is interested in it unlike her disinterest with the old one, but Teemo is still learning to share with her. It’s also much much quieter. I’m going to share some videos so y’all can see it in action. Plus a video of them trying to go on it at the same time which I found hilarious. They seem more motivated at this point when I give them verbal encouragement, so the audio is a little annoying, but I’m leaving it in so y’all can hear the noise level. I’ll try to post updates on how their confidence going faster goes and how well the wheel holds up. Do any of y’all have wheels for your cats? If so, how was your experience with them?

Who am I and what is “An Animal's Mind”
My name is Jose Llanas. I am a licensed veterinary technician (LVT), which is equivalent to a nurse, but in veterinary medicine. The biggest hurdle I came across trying to fulfill my dreams is often the hardest to overcome for someone in my shoes: time and finances. The pay of LVTs nationwide is not the best, but life is manageable through budgeting. My lifelong career goal is to be a DVM, DACVB, MPH, but that is far into the future. I have been in the veterinary field for almost two years, and in that short time, I have noticed a point of contention. That point of contention is centered around not having enough time with the veterinarian to ask important clarifying questions or just questions in general, and the high cost of going to the vet. Right now, I am just an LVT with a special interest in animal behavior, teaching, and helping people. I do not have much insight into starting a non-profit or online community. I only have a vision, a dream, and a desire to help. I'm getting this ball rolling by starting this community, but help would be awesome. Eventually, I would like to train technicians and other people who like to teach and want to help. QUESTIONS: Want to know more about your pet and your pet’s health? Want to get more information on a specific disease? Want to attend a small class centered around niche topics, such as vaccines, diet, allergies, or enrichment? Want to help fund? Donation link in my Linktree (Food, cleaning, and housing supplies for animal shelters, etc) I have a dream of owning and operating a non-profit focused on and centered around education about medical illnesses, behavior, nutrition, and finding access to care that would address these issues. Opening this ”An Animal’s Mind” community is one way I can think of for funding this dream of mine. Are you on board?

This is a powerful vision, Jose. You’re identifying a real gap in the veterinary space education, access, and time and that’s exactly where scalable platforms shine. From an e-commerce and Shopify standpoint, this is absolutely viable. A Shopify-based education hub can support: - Paid and free educational classes - Digital resources (guides, courses, memberships) - Donations and transparent fundraising - Community building without relying solely on social media algorithms The key is structuring it so education comes first, while monetization supports the mission not the other way around. With the right setup, you can fund your nonprofit goals, train others, and still keep costs accessible for pet owners. If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to share how this could be structured step-by-step in a way that’s realistic for your time and finances. Feel free to DM me this is a vision worth building right.
