Content to Grab While Traveling
Good afternoon folks! I just had a mentee ask me what content might be useful for him to grab while he is traveling to Germany. In addition to answering his specific question, I wanted to also use it as a way to give some general advice for gathering aspirational content. So in general, when you have beautiful views of places that you can't go to often, you should definitely put some effort into taking pictures where you are in the picture enough that they know it's you, but the majority of the picture is the gorgeous scenery. This way it shows that you have a level of success that you can go to these places and have as professional as possible looking photographs or b-roll of these places. Now you might be thinking, "Why does this matter at all?" You're always talking about just giving value and directly actionable tips. And good. I'm actually kind of glad that you're thinking that. But here's the thing: If you pair something that is aspirational, meaning it makes potential clients recognize that they want to lead a life similar to yours, WITH giving them direct value, it amplifies both of those aspects. And for bonus tips, throw in something that shows humility, so that you still seem relatable to those people that can't even imagine a future where they would be able to travel to the place that you are. When you put this all together, potential clients will think, "Wow, this guy has really built a pretty awesome life for itself." So then they subconsciously think, "Okay, so I'm more willing to listen to them because they've done what I want to do." And then they also subconsciously think, "Wow, they also directly helped me out. What an awesome guy." So then they subconsciously or consciously make the choice to follow you or like more of your stuff or share it around to someone because they think it's really cool and they could get value from it (which then raises their social status,)... or they simply do just follow because it looks really cool, and then they get even more value later, and they reach that same type of aformentioned conclusion, just later.
