Fellow coach and friend Floris Gierman just sent me a copy of his new book, “Running Breakthroughs”. Great info that’s similar to my method with cool insights from Eliud Kipchoge, Kilian Jornet and others. Highly recommended!

My copy arrived today. I'm working my way through it. I find it very readable and relatable. I like the "skip around" format so that I can address whatever shortcoming or goal I'm working on. Any other members reading this right now?
Two thoughts from today's long run
Accountability and what long runs tell you. We got another healthy dump of snow overnight, and I really, really didn't want to go get my run in at the gym. But since I had publicly told you all that I was running long today, I had to do it😆. Also, I always figure out what I need to strengthen when I run longer than my typical workout. Today, I learned that I need to get back on strengthening glute medius muscles; they got tired first. There's always something!

I'm planning a 6-mile run - long for me this month. I'm hoping the temps pick up quite a bit, but yesterday we hit -25 at my house. This morning, we're still at -13. 6 miles on a treadmill is B.O.R.I.N.G., but it's better than frostbite🙃.

This is a great post. My running daughter and son-in-law (who got ME into running) are running with me virtually. We start our half-marathon training in a month. For January, two of us are doing a Resolution Challenge, and a 2026 in 2026 team challenge. Lots of fun ahead for all of us!
