As off a couple of days ago, Google has put a "block" to scraping their SERP. It is now become increasingly more difficult to scrape the first page without incurring in some extra costs. This will drastically impact the ability for SEO tools to continue offering features like keyword position tracking and I expect an increase on their monthly subscriptions or just offering position tracking as a seperate addon or something like that. Personally I think Google should have done this last year as many LLMs have been feeding of Google´s SERP to train their RAGs/AI models/Agents virtually for pennies. Hello fellow marketers! I’ve been so focused on client work that I’ve neglected growing the SEO side of my own business. Now that I’m diving back in, I’m noticing a lot of resistance to SEO services—particularly Local SEO. I’m targeting service-based businesses (like electricians and plumbers), but despite highlighting the benefits of ranking higher in local searches and attracting nearby customers, I’m struggling to get traction (and struggling to get time in with these busy businesses!). Have you experienced this resistance, and if so, how did you overcome it? Do you have any strategies for getting clients through the door and helping them see the value of Local SEO?
