🌞 New Lesson Inside: The Sunroom as a Wellness Space
Most people think of sunrooms as “nice to have” spaces, but you might be surprised at all the ways a sunroom can improve your wellbeing. A well-designed sunroom can become one of the most powerful wellness spaces in your home. It can support your mood, your sleep, your focus, your movement, your pets, your family life—and even your home’s energy efficiency. In other words, it’s not just extra square footage. It’s a multiplier for how your home works for you. 🌿 In this lesson, I walk you through: - Why natural light changes how your brain & body function - How a sunroom can become a space for calm, work, fitness, family, or even growing food! - The science-backed benefits of daylight, plants, and nature views - How to think about styling a sunroom based on what you actually need more of in your life Like the rest of your home, designing your sunroom is all about supporting your personal priorities and creating a space that makes your life better. If you’ve ever wished you had a brighter, calmer, room in your home, this lesson is for you.💚

New Lesson Inside: ✨Hygge—How to Create a Home That Restores You✨
🕯️ I just added a short lesson to the classroom all about hygge—the Danish idea of creating a home that feels safe, calm, and genuinely restorative (not just “nice to look at”). In this lesson, we look at: ✅ How your home can support your nervous system, energy, and mood ✅ Simple, practical ways to make your space feel more grounded and comforting If your home looks fine but doesn’t always feel like it's supporting your wellbeing, this lesson might give you a few ideas to try! 📚 You’ll find it now in the Classroom. I’d love to hear: what’s one small change you want to try to make your home more restorative?

I loved the word when I came across it on my socials. 'Hygge' sounds like HUG to me, exactly what it does.
👋 Introduce Yourself
Since this community is still small, I’d love to get to know you! Please feel free to say hello and share a few details about yourself. 🏡 A few easy ideas (totally optional): • where you call home • what kind of space you’re living in (house, apartment, condo, fixer-upper, etc.) • who you share your space with (kids, pets, roommates, parents, etc.) • one thing you enjoy about your home right now • one space that feels a bit stuck or unfinished 👇I’ll start below and share a little about myself, too. Looking forward to getting to know you (and your homes) as we build The Thoughtful Home together! 💚

I am a multi-disciplinary applied-psychology practitioner with over a decade of experience and I help people, especially women break through subconscious programming, remember who they are, blossom and gain confidence. I love creating and facilitating workshops and group discussions. My community on Skool is called INNER AUTHORITY , currently FREE and open to women. I am passionate about getting people to realise just how beautiful and powerful they are. I have multiple hobbies, love art, books and writing. Also, cooking, food and nutrition and having an organised home for me is a challenge! My apartment is small, shared with a travelling partner and two indoor-outdoor kitties. I'll be shifting into a slightly smaller one soon, so spaces will be redefined. I love warm lighting, lampshades and candles and know by now the colours that bring me calm; habitually keeping the spaces uncluttered can become challenging when I'm low on time or energy. Argh! Ideally, I need a separate room for all my interests, but then I'd need a thousand-room mansion with an army of managers to handle it all, and I'm not there yet. Sigh! I love♥️ the mountains because that's where I was born, in the mighty Himalayas. Currently, I live in Italy, so I'm fully Indo-Italian and live and speak Italian fluently. The GIF below says a lot about me. I am the living foundation of my work.

@Tara Bergdoll adorable!!! 🐾. I’ve had two black cats over the years and they’re very special to me. I lost my 16year old last summer and decided no more cats as I need to travel but the colony strays have adopted me. Well, till I’m here, they’ll get food, cuddles and a warm space to shelter in when the weather gets tough. This is little sunshine.
Does Design Have the Power to Shape Your Behaviour? 🪄
As much as we all love to admire beautiful Pinterest design photos, if you look closely, there's usually some impractical and unrealistic elements that don't make sense for most people's lifestyles. That's why good design has to be well thought out. By taking the time to look at how you live and how you want to live, you can completely elevate your day-to-day life. Your home design is impacting you—whether you realize it or not. 🔹An organized kitchen supports healthy habits 🥗 🔹A dark corner becomes a dumping ground 🔹A cozy chair and a reading lamp magically creates a reading nook 📚 🔹A cluttered entryway creates frantic mornings Good design doesn’t just look nice. It can actually change how people behave. That’s why home staging works. That’s why wellness design matters. That’s why small changes can lead to big emotional (and financial) outcomes. When we design with intention, we’re really asking: 👉 How do I want people to feel here? 👉 How can I make daily life a bit easier for them? 👉 What obstacles can I remove? ☕️ In this community, we’ll spend a lot of time talking about design as a tool for clarity, calm, productivity, connection—and yes, ROI. Because a beautiful home is nice to have… But an intentional & supportive home is life-changing 💚

What’s a Vestibule? And Why More Homes Should Have One🚪
🏡 A vestibule is usually a small enclosed space in between the front door and the interior of a home. It’s basically an entryway space that separates the front door from the rest of the house, but is much smaller than a modern mudroom. They were quite common in historical homes and I've often wondered why we stopped building vestibules into our homes.🤔 With the popularity of open concept homes, these spaces were removed from most home designs and sadly, we lost something important: a buffer between the outside world and our private living spaces. 🗝️ So, if you're designing a new home or planning a renovation, here are some of the reasons I think you should consider adding a vestibule to your plan: ✅ Increased safety: two doors instead of one adds an extra layer of security (especially helpful if you have kids or pets) ✅ Improved privacy: you can greet someone without opening your home fully ✅ Creates clear separation between public & private spaces ✅ Added storage & organization: coats, shoes, bags, umbrellas all have a place ✅ Improves energy efficiency: two doors help keep cold, heat & wind out ✅ Feels more welcoming: there’s a moment to arrive, pause & transition from the outside ✅ Better security for parcel delivery ✨Let's take a moment to appreciate how powerful this small space really is and the cozy effect it could have on your life at home 💚

My next tiny apartment has this kind of walk-in space, albeit tiny, where I plan to leave all my shoes, umbrellas and coats.
