Has anyone joined a Skool that’s been helpful?
Honestly, I’ve joined many Skool groups and they’ve all been disappointing. Common things I run into: - No one engaging with my posts/dms - Courses not meeting expectations - Low effort from community creator - Not much to do It’s a bit discouraging because the impression I’ve gotten from many groups is that it’s really not worth the money. I want my group to be different, but let’s be honest with ourselves. Would you buy, use, and benefit from your Skool community?

@Josh Forth excellent question. It is likely because of imposter syndrome. Am I qualified to teach? Of course, anyone can teach anyone. But are you effective? It is like a 5th grade teacher who got their bachelors and masters in teaching 5th grade students vs someone who graduated with a bachelors in civil engineering who didn't make it as a civil engineer so they decided to be a 5th grade teacher. Both can do the job, but the one who went to school specifically for teaching 5th graders will likely be more effective. I am still trying to figure out what type of Skool community to create.

@Dave Heraud I like that idea! I might do that!
Organic Skool
What are your thoughts on building a community from scratch with no external help? It sounds like a difficult process, but I personally think it’s doable. It’s what I’m trying at least. What are your thoughts?

@Tobías Gerschman I didn't even consider help because I lack the resources. But I feel there are some pros to this. I feel if you're experienced in marketing and you can get your customers/guests/subscribers results - then you can quickly see results. Like, this is your thing, right? You got this! If you have no experience in marketing and you don't even know what niche to pick, then you may need help. But if you're stuck here at this point - how will you even hire people? You don't even know what kind of people to hire or collaborate with. For instance, if you're in the health field but you want to hire health field kinda people. And you can niche further into "health." There is the free community you can run your ideas by, but if you want a more direct approach, it might be helpful to hire someone to guide you or mentor you.
📌Make Your Life Easier: Pin Your Communities
I assume this is general knowledge, Sam explains it in one of the communities. If you are on a desktop, pin your favorite communities to the left side of your screen. (check the attached image) 1.) Click your profile picture in the right upper corner of the screen 2.) Click settings 3.) Click communities (should be sixth or seventh in the column on the left side) 4.) Find which community you want to pin, and click the pin icon on the right side of the community This makes it so much easier than to scroll through all of the communities you're in.

@Antonio Matijevic excellent tip. Its so weird but sometimes the most obvious things will be looked past. I am part of Skool Games community, so I was wondering why the little torch thing was pinned to the left. Now this makes more sense 😂 Thank you

@Kevin Paulraj I would recommend joining the Skool Games, too. @Alex Hormozi created several lessons on how to start your community and the several ways you can acquire new members - paid vs free. I think you'll find them extremely useful!
