Small Win
I'm a small channel with 12 subs and 9 videos. This morning one of my videos reached 75 views! The most so far. It may not seem like much to most, but it made me smile. This video is my absolute favorite because the place is so special to me. The video was about chasing the Michigan sunrise.

@Hollie Gallatin that’s wonderful!
Season's greetings
Hi everyone. I've been an inconsistent member of the group. Active and then I disappear .... to hospital. It's been a challenging year and I'm hoping surgery in the new year will resolve my problems. I plan to be present and active following that recovery. I wish you all the best for your holiday celebration and many good wishes for the coming year. Kind regards Nanette

@Nanette Irvine Sending you healing thoughts, Nanette. Wishing you a smooth surgery and an easier, healthier year ahead. 💛
Random Thought From a New YouTuber
I’m still pretty new to YouTube, and one thing that surprised me early on is how fast people decide whether to keep watching or not. Before I even worried about views or subscribers, I noticed myself stressing over things like: – Does this video feel clear? – Does it look trustworthy at first glance? – Would I click on this if it wasn’t my own channel? It’s interesting how sometimes the content itself is solid, but something small makes it feel harder to sit through. Other times, a simple video just works and you can’t fully explain why. Still learning, still experimenting, but this whole process has made me realize YouTube isn’t just about hitting “record.” There’s a lot happening before someone even presses play. Curious to see how this journey unfolds.🤩

@Evans Brook So true. First impressions on YouTube happen in seconds, not minutes. It’s a mix of clarity, trust, and that hard-to-define “would I click?” factor. Sounds like you’re learning exactly the right lessons early on.
Fake Collaborations (Taking advantage)
Don’t be fooled into fake collaborations! Yes, other creators will sometimes ask you if you want to collaborate, but not do a video where both of you are in it, like a real podcast, or you do videos helping each other in some sort of true collaborative way. What collaborations are not. Collaborations are not putting someone else’s content on your channel l. Don’t fall for it! Unfortunately, unethical creators exist. Just like the DMers that want to “work” with us supposedly. Just a heads up. In collaborations. Both of you should be involved in some way

@Mike Karabell thanks for the advice
Top tip
When you sit down to record a video on Quick Time and have your notes on the screen, make sure you hit the record button. It works better like that.

@Mike Garner thanks for sharing. I recorded (not) a video the other day, but sadly I didn’t hit the record button. I considered it practice and a lesson learned.
