it starts with "hi i'm [name] and i help businesses with [service]." that's why. the person reading it has seen that exact same opening 10 times this week from 10 different people. they don't even finish reading the second sentence. the fix is stupid simple. open with something about THEIR situation that makes them stop and think "how does this person know that." one specific observation about their business. not flattery, not "i love what you're doing," something that shows you actually looked.
