Sales
Guys, how do y'all manage your sales? Is it just email campaigns, Linkedin outreach, cold calling? What's your go to? I prefer cold calling :P

cold calling is good for fast feedback, but i wouldn’t pick the channel before knowing who you’re trying to reach. some offers need the phone because the conversation sells it better. some work better when the person has seen an email or linkedin touch before the call, otherwise you’re just starting from zero every time. what are you selling rn and who are you usually trying to get on the phone?

@Dmitrij Dremin cold email feels generic when the offer is being made up from conversation to conversation bro. if you’re calling small businesses and trying to think of the solution on the go, the email has nothing sharp to point at either. opens don’t mean much if the message doesn’t hit a problem they already care about. what are you pitching in those emails and what type of small businesses are you sending them to?
Looking to chat with other agency owners (esp. design) about what you're actually automating
I run a Webflow + design agency (~40 people) and I've been going deep on AI/automation for the last few months. Mostly Claude Code as the backbone. What I'd love to learn from others who are further along or experimenting alongside me: - Ops vs. delivery, are you mostly automating the internal OS (sales, PM, finance, onboarding, reporting), or are you pushing AI into the actual production work (design, copy, builds)? Where's the line for you? - What you'd never touch with AI, every agency I talk to has a "no, this stays human" zone. Curious where yours is and why. - What surprised you, the thing you automated that you didn't think would work, or the thing you tried that fell flat. - Drop your thoughts in the comments, happy to share what's working on my end too.

for a design agency that size, i’d be looking at sales before trying to push ai too deep into the actual creative work. design/build quality is the thing clients pay for, so i wouldn’t rush to automate the parts where taste matters. but lead research, outbound, follow up, that’s where a lot of agencies leave money sitting because nobody owns it properly every day. do you already have something running that brings in sales conversations consistently, or is most of it still coming through referrals/content/network?
Cold Email Enquiry
Quick question, do I use my personal email to send outreach campaigns to pitch AI solutions? Or is it a lot better to have an email with a business domain name?

the email/domain part matters, but i wouldn’t start there. if the offer is vague, a business domain won’t save the campaign. “AI solutions” can mean anything, and business owners usually don’t care about the AI part unless it fixes something they already know is costing them time or money. what are you trying to sell with the cold email and who are you planning to send it to first?
email expert review..
this is a copy of my first send to be used for a campaign for Indep. RE brokers Subject: {{firstName}}, is {{companyName}} taking on more listings? Hi {{firstName}} - Noticed you're running {{companyName}} on your own — thought I'd reach out. We're just getting started but we built something I think could genuinely help: — Responds to every new lead within 60 seconds — Qualifies them so you know who's worth your time — Books the meeting straight into your calendar We're setting it up free for a few brokers right now just to prove it works. Want me to set one up for {{companyName}}? [Name] i need the experts to review it and tell me what needs fixing cuz I'm not experienced when it comes to cold email.

couple things bro - "we're just getting started" kills ur credibility instantly. nobody wants to be someone's guinea pig. drop that line completely also "we built something" is vague. what is it - an ai assistant, a chatbot, a cold email system? the prospect needs to know what they're saying yes to the free offer angle can work but the way it's framed makes it sound like u're not confident in it. instead of "just to prove it works" try leading with the result - like how many leads they're losing by not responding fast enough what kind of responses are u getting so far from this?

@Gideon Austin yeah bro that’s fair, but confident doesn’t mean making some crazy claim. it just means not leading with “we’re new and trying to prove ourselves” u can keep it grounded and still sound like u know why you’re reaching out. if you haven’t sent any yet, i wouldn’t keep editing forever. send a small batch and let the market tell u what’s off what’s the line you’re thinking of using instead?
Cold Calling is BRUTAL
I’ve been cold calling for about 2 months for my agency. It has been hard, especially with no guidance, my business partner and I both agree that sometimes it feels like we’re moving in the wrong direction with it, and instead of becoming better, we actually get worse. We’re not giving up this business, we’re going all in. But cold calling has just been brutal. I’m also worried if our voice in the call has a negative impact, we sell an ai receptionist rebranded as a ‘virtual front office’ but we’re both 17 so I’m worried they also don’t see us as serious because of our voices. Does anyone have any tips on how to get started, or how to find a good mentor?

bro i'm 16 running my own agency so i get the voice thing completely. here's the truth tho - ur age and voice matter way less than what u're actually saying on the call. if the message is right and u're talking to someone who has the problem u solve they don't care if u sound like a kid 2 months of cold calling with no guidance and feeling like u're getting worse - what does a typical call look like for u rn? like what do u say in the first 10 seconds? cuz that's usually where most calls die also have u thought about other ways to get in front of people besides cold calling? there's ways to have conversations showing up in ur inbox without dialing all day. are u down to connect bro? i'm @ deokotev on tg
