Good questions and one that I have also been looking into - I am in the UK so slightly different, but would equally like to know the same. I know that some brokerages will ask if this is for a Company or a Trust when setting up the accounts but have not progressed any further as yet. Would be good to hear if anyone else is doing this and in which jurisdiction.

Tax payer status

I watched a video that @Peter Wilson did, and there was a question about tax to which Peter answered depending if you've declared yourself a "Taxpayer" I recently received a statement from the tax man demanding late payment fees whic,h interestingly are for the last 6 years. I haven't filled a tax return for much longer than that, so I'm assuming the previous assumptions from the tax man as to my taxable status are now statute barred. I've also not been on the register of electors for 20 years. My question is, how do I assert my non tax payer status? Thanks in advance

A question on this relating banks - a lot of the commercial and personal banks want to know your NI number or the Tax Authority for which you reside in? How should one respond to these questions?
