Getting Clients to See the Value in Local SEO
Hello fellow marketers! I’ve been so focused on client work that I’ve neglected growing the SEO side of my own business. Now that I’m diving back in, I’m noticing a lot of resistance to SEO services—particularly Local SEO. I’m targeting service-based businesses (like electricians and plumbers), but despite highlighting the benefits of ranking higher in local searches and attracting nearby customers, I’m struggling to get traction (and struggling to get time in with these busy businesses!). Have you experienced this resistance, and if so, how did you overcome it? Do you have any strategies for getting clients through the door and helping them see the value of Local SEO? Looking forward to learning from your insights!

One thing I did in the past was to build a micro-site, optimized for one type of professional (like plumber) in one city or district. Get it ranked well. Then approach someone and offer them visibility (aka leads) from the already ranked website. Then you can sell add-on services like google map optimization, content creation, etc.

How To Create Posts In The AI SEO Academy
Anyone can post here. Use this space to share knowledge, ask questions, or get insights from hundreds of smart people (senior SEOs, founders, developers, directors, business owners, and CEOs.) Posting guidelines Write a clear title: Specific titles get better engagement. “Need help automating meta descriptions” will draw more responses than “Need help?!” Add real detail Put effort into your post. Share what you’ve tried, where you’re stuck, or what you’ve learned. The more context you give, the more value you’ll get back. Stay on brand Keep posts focused on SEO and AI. That’s what this community is about. No sales pitches Don’t use posts as a way to push your services. Share value, not spam. Connect offline if you want, but keep the group knowledge-first. What you can post about - Questions on AI + SEO - Feedback on tools, workflows, or prompts - Website roasts - Wins, learnings, or struggles - Results you’re proud of - Anything else that genuinely adds value This community works best when people share generously. Ask, contribute, and have fun posting.
