Eliminate “Burnout”…
We’re all meatheads here, but the truth is no matter how much we enjoy training, eventually we’re gonna have our peaks and valleys with the level of enthusiasm we have towards it. And if left unattended, this can eventually lead to a level of burnout that makes you fall out of love with training all together. My remedy for this is simple… Have some other hobbies in conjunction with lifting! For me it’s archery, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and competition barbecue. Some may argue that having multiple loves takes from the MAXIMUM you can get from one, but I find that being passionate about all of these hobbies keeps me from getting TOO hyper focused on one hobby (which makes those natural ebbs and flows of enthusiasm seem less extreme)… With that said, for the sake of getting to know more about you, what are some of the additional hobbies you’ve got?? Let me know in the comments or replying to this email…

Cooking, a little woodworking, hiking
12 kg to 16 kg increase
I’m re-running the 30 days with higher weight. The 16 KG bells came in - bounce checked across the country. Box destroyed and FedEx had to repack it. Oh well. Ordered the Man Maker Series. Need to switch up the exercises. My weight is down 30 lbs since last May, and I just came off of one of my blood pressure meds. Good stuff. Make it a great day!!

Week one with the new weight complete - I did have to work for it. Progress!

I purchased MetCon 6, 4 ish years ago. Love it. Mixing up the exercises and adding the finishers is where I found some challenge. Most taxing to least taxing. If there was easier way to mix and match intelligently - I would greatly appreciate that. Now in all honesty if I stayed at it for four years I might have had a better handle on it. Next question - what’s next after the 30 day challenge? I’ll be back to the mix and match routine so that I don’t get bored or fragment. Thanks for putting on a great program. Stan

@Luke Browning I had a similar problem until I moved my workouts to the morning. This works for me, mileage may vary for anyone using it. I’m up at five. I’m in the garage by 5:30 x 5:50 I’ve completed one of these workouts and I’m moving on to my next part of life.
Core Work and Back Pain
I get PLENTY of spinal flexion, rotation, and lateral flexion work during Jiu-Jitsu, so I rely pretty heavily on anti-movement work when lifting. Because of these offset anti-movement focused exercises (in conjunction with a good amount of thoracic spine and hip mobility work), I’ve avoided many of the back aches and pains that many of my fellow 40+ friends have who DON’T use these same tactics. Out of curiosity, how many of you are experiencing back pain and would like to learn more about how to eliminate it via NON-surgical or pill popping practices???

I’m interested. I’ve also started some stretching. Pain above my hip, driving and desk work. Too much sitting.
