CEO Monday: let's clock in boss
There was a point where my IG was just random. Post a hairstyle one day, skip a week, post a bridesmaid the next… and wonder why brides weren’t booking. It’s me…HIII. I’m the problem, it’s me🤠 I told myself “I don’t have time” but really—I wasn’t making time. Then I realized: content doesn’t have to be hard. If I block ONE hour on Mondays to schedule, the rest of the week flows. That helped me: - Batch record b-roll at weddings. - Save reels to drafts AKA ready to post instantly. - Write story prompts ahead of time. - Plan content that sells my services. It’s the difference between panicking at 9PM and actually having freedom in your week. The to-do’s: 📓 Journal Prompts: → Where did I scramble for content last week? → What piece of content landed well with my brides? → What story/reel could I repurpose instead of reinventing? → What’s a content win I can celebrate? → What’s my one content goal for the week? 💻 Business: - Plan your feed/story posts - Batch edit videos → save to drafts - Pick one CTA (DM, comment, save, share) - Block out your calendar to create content this week 📲 Personal: - Clean your car (inside or outside—she deserves it 🚗✨) - Clear out old screenshots from your phone - Order household essentials you’re running out of - Take 20 minutes to plan meals or book that one appt you keep forgetting Your homework this week → batch ONE piece of content and schedule it so you’re not scrambling later. PS: something is dropping soon to Bridalpreneur Socials that will have you saying "wow it's so easy to post" and get you more visible to the thousands of newly engaged brides about to enter the market come December. Annnny guesses?!😆

Can't wait to see what drops! Thats my pain point right now. I have about 700+ followers but not evenn1/4 of them are brides

@Marissa Brennan i just this week started posting based on the post and story templates you provide! I'll have to look in the socials channel to see if there are any reels ideas! i feel like I'm struggling because after narrowing down to a few looks that I want to do i have very little content. i plan to do a content day in December hopefully. just have to make it until then!
Styled Shoot & Runway Show Contract?
Hey everyone! I am wondering if any of you have implemented a styled shoot & or runway show contract? I have done quite a few this year and i feel like they have helped a ton! However a few of them i was promised certain things that were not followed through on. Such as appropriate tagging, Signage at runway shows, advertisement in relation to these events and even unrealistic expectations for hair services (because the models hair isn't appropriate for the desired look.) I am considering implementing a contract that clearly outlines what i expect to get from the event before agreeing to it. I'm just curious if doing so is going to make me someone undesirable to work with? What is your experience with this? Or just advice? Thanks!
"Ive found someone cheaper"
Its wedding season in lil ol NZ and Im being hit with "ive found someone cheaper" spiel. Most recently I came across someone who said that she found a quote for $1400 for 6 hair & Makeups incl Bride and travel which is insanely cheap. I quoted $2150 for 6 Hair and makeups + bridal trial and a second artist which is below market average in the first place. Do you have any suggestions on how to reply to comments like that? Also, Im still under market average and I know my skill is high but how do I get my potential clients to see my value?

Bride cancel makeup services
Hi Makeup Artists! , I’d love your advice on a situation I’m currently dealing with. A bride booked me over a year ago for her wedding on October 18th, which is one of the highest-demand weekends of the year. Because of this booking, I’ve already declined over 25 other wedding inquiries for that same date. We just did her trial only 19 days before the wedding, and I really tried my best to achieve the look she requested. From my perspective, she looked absolutely beautiful—it was just a matter of small refinements for the wedding day. I explained to her that trials are exactly for that reason: to test the look and then fine-tune it so everything is perfect on the big day. Afterward, her wedding planner reached out asking me to be flexible with my cancellation policy. For context, my contract clearly states that if the bride cancels, the full wedding balance is still due, since I’m reserving that date exclusively for them. Out of good faith, I told them I could lower the cancellation fee to $950 instead of the full amount, even though technically I don’t have to. On top of that, back in July she had already canceled the hairstylist from my team (after I had secured her for a year), and I didn’t charge a cancellation fee then either. So here’s my question to you all: 👉 What would you have done in my shoes? Would you have enforced the full cancellation fee as per the contract, or offered some flexibility like I did? ( I offer to her other trial but she doesn’t want to)

i really appreciate this question! I am updating my contract to have 30% down to book, 20% due at time of trial and remaining 50% due at final payment. I never even considered what would happen if they canceled between the trial and the final cut of for payment!
airtable
Hey! I started using airtable and i am obsessed! It is seriously so much better than the google spreadsheet i was trying to use. I recently noticed that it has a feature for automations. Do you or have you (or anyone on here) used that feature and loved it? I am just now trying to figure it out but it seems like it might be highly useful! If you do use it lets share how and support eachother!
