So I put my prices up and had quite a few people mention that im out of budget/ too expensive or people that Ive had to like convert to book. However today I had my first "no questions or hesitation" booking today! I sent her my packages and after seeing them and seeing my content etc she didnt wanna miss out on booking me so she booked and paid her deposit within 6 hours of first contact! So stoked!!

Hey everyone! I am wondering if any of you have implemented a styled shoot & or runway show contract? I have done quite a few this year and i feel like they have helped a ton! However a few of them i was promised certain things that were not followed through on. Such as appropriate tagging, Signage at runway shows, advertisement in relation to these events and even unrealistic expectations for hair services (because the models hair isn't appropriate for the desired look.) I am considering implementing a contract that clearly outlines what i expect to get from the event before agreeing to it. I'm just curious if doing so is going to make me someone undesirable to work with? What is your experience with this? Or just advice? Thanks!

Its wedding season in lil ol NZ and Im being hit with "ive found someone cheaper" spiel. Most recently I came across someone who said that she found a quote for $1400 for 6 hair & Makeups incl Bride and travel which is insanely cheap. I quoted $2150 for 6 Hair and makeups + bridal trial and a second artist which is below market average in the first place. Do you have any suggestions on how to reply to comments like that? Also, Im still under market average and I know my skill is high but how do I get my potential clients to see my value?

Ive recently come across a MUA that is stealing pics of other MUAs work and posting it as their own. Obv you can tell the difference between her actual work and the stolen work. Shes based in NZ and is mostly stealing pics from our American and Australian MUA honeys (Ive messaged the original creators and let them know) but if you post a great pic, might pay to reverse search your images to see where they end up! It makes me so so mad seeing this, it takes so much work, time, effort and money to get to a point where your work is amazing and for someone to steal it, its just horrible... esp if they have more followers in the gram then you in the first place! 😅
