🧠 The Priming Effect
Ever notice how once someone points something out, suddenly everyone sees or hears it? That’s the priming effect in action. Priming happens when exposure to one idea influences how we perceive something else. For example: - Someone says, “This singer’s voice sounds like Trump” Suddenly, everyone hears it too. It’s basically your brain being gently guided—sometimes without you even realizing it. Next time you catch yourself agreeing with the crowd, ask: did you hear it first, or did someone prime you to hear it that way? 🤔 Everybody knows Michael Stipe, right? This song is around like 40 years or so. Have you ever noticed that he sounds like Trump? NO. Because HE DOESN'T . But all of a sudden someone on Instagram did a mash-up with this song and Trump's speech. And BOOM! Now your brain is PRIMED, and you can’t UNHEAR that. @Yanan Wang @Gulistan Asan@Khalil Ghacha @Alex Understated @Mariel Liang @Jenny Yu @Ayako Emi

Well, the idea is interesting, but I fail to find Trump in it 🥲I guess my brain is hard to be primmed in this case :)

🇺🇸 English Expressions: Shoot the Breeze
Hey everyone! 👋 Today’s expression is “shoot the breeze.” 👉 It means to chat casually, talk about unimportant or light topics, usually just for fun. Basically, it’s friendly, relaxed conversation with no serious purpose. Origin: This phrase comes from American English in the early 1900s. “Shoot” here means to talk or exchange, and “breeze” suggests something light and easy. Over time, it became a casual way to describe chatting with friends. 🗨️ Examples: • We spent the afternoon shooting the breeze on the porch. 😄 • Let’s grab coffee and shoot the breeze for a bit. ☕ • After work, they stayed late just shooting the breeze. 🏡 Now it’s your turn! 💬 Drop your own sentence using “shoot the breeze” below 👇 WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER! 🤝 English Expressions page in the Classroom 👉https://www.skool.com/lme/classroom/c7105c70?md=a0522a36e24d4286a880b2f958b8f1ea
