Drop Scarcity Mindset
TAKING ACTION: ✅ Did you (or do you still) have a scarcity mindset around certain foods? Read the post below, and let’s talk about ways to navigate it if so! ⬇️Nourishing your body tip #2⬇️ Drop the scarcity mindset around food. 💯 “Scarcity makes everything desirable.” ~Shahram Heshmat, Ph.D. Scarcity or telling yourself that you can’t have certain foods regularly leads to overindulging. You aren’t weak. It’s the way we’re made. So instead of working against it, work WITH it. 👏 If you want to avoid the scarcity mindset, don’t have any “off-limits” foods. That doesn’t mean you should just go stock up on junk food. The answer isn’t black-and-white. You don’t have to avoid them altogether, nor do you have to binge on them when you do choose to enjoy them. Have you ever avoided what we’ll call a “fear food”, only to see it on the table at a party or gathering, and suddenly, you have no control? Yeah, same. This is most often because you’ve decided this food is off-limits and your brain is simply doing what it’s evolutionarily designed to do… One good way to strengthen yourself in this area is to buy pre-portioned packages of foods that have formerly caused you to overindulge. For example, if you’re someone who eats the entire box of cereal at 10:00 PM, try buying the single-serve portions and allow yourself to have one a few times per week. The same goes for potato chips, ice cream, or anything else you try to avoid. If there’s even a small morsel of “I can’t have that”, that’s when you can expect to overdo it. The goal is to kick the scarcity mindset to the curb! 👟 Wednesday Wisdom: Today’s subject is a matter of the brain, and we all know that changing your thoughts isn’t easy. This is especially true when it’s deep in your psyche or subconscious. It takes practice. It takes intentional thinking. It takes patience and time. You may take one step forward with this approach only to take two steps back next time. Just don’t give up. Keep practicing. Repeatedly THINKING and ACTING is the power combo when it comes to changing your brain! 🧠

This is something I have worked on the last few years. Prior to that I would cold turkey cut something out and then my mind would just obsess and feen over what I “couldn't” have. I first stopped keeping whatever the food was in my house. If I wanted it I could buy it but I would buy single servings and once it was gone it was gone. This has really helped with feeling like I’m missing out or can’t have something. Takes the mental part out.
Brain 🧠 = Pattern Detector
TAKING ACTION: ✅ Everyone check in today! Let me know how you’re doing and feeling below! How’s your mindset? “Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” ~Unknown Simple quote. Powerful message. 💯 This week, we are talking about treating every day as the first day of your journey. I’ll be honest—it’s not easy. The reason it isn’t easy is that you’ve trained your brain/thoughts to proclaim and believe that it gets boring, monotonous, and mundane. The only reason you believe that is that you THINK that. Again, you’ve trained yourself to think like this. The cool thing is that if you can train your brain one way, you can train your brain to think just the opposite. It starts with intentional practice. You see, your brain doesn’t know the difference between reality and fiction. It simply reacts to your thought patterns. This means you have to change your thought patterns! That’s the answer! As I mentioned, changing your thoughts isn’t the easiest thing to do, but here’s a simple way to start ⬇️ Say this to yourself: “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.” Then repeat. Then repeat. Keep repeating. Remember, your brain is a pattern detector. 💯

I ordered a chest freezer and asked for it to be delivered to my back door. Alas it ended at the front 😫. I could have manhandled it to the back but work smarter not harder 😜😜

✅ Do you try to keep things simple? Share your tips below today! ✅ Share your favorite move from today’s workout, and as always, let me see those macros! 🍽 Have you ever heard of the acronym KISS? In this space, it means “Keep it simple, sis.” I can’t tell you how powerful it is to keep it simple when it comes to your health & wellness journey. Oftentimes, I see clients go all in—trying to cook new recipes every night, trying to work out every day of the week, etc. Unfortunately, this almost always leads to burnout—and it happens fast. 💯 Some of the most successful people I know keep it super simple. In fact, they eat the same meals throughout the week (or at least most days of the week). This helps them with decision fatigue, tracking, etc. It also takes the guesswork out. Keeping it simple works for them in more ways than one. They don’t get bored with their simple meals because they’ve trained their bodies not to crave junk. They primarily view food as fuel. This process doesn’t happen overnight, but is done through consistency over time. You don’t get bored by eating simply. Your body (and brain!) is simply having a craving for what it’s used to. The good news is that you can control your cravings by 1) reducing processed food, and 2) meeting your nutrition targets. As you move forward, consider ways you can keep it simple. Trust me, it’s one of the best decisions you can make! Speaking of keeping it simple, check out this Brussels sprout salad you can make in under 30 minutes! 😍 Brussels Sprout Salad - Wholesome Yum

Almost always simple. I’ve been batch cooking and freezing so when I need something, I have options to grab. This morning I grabbed egg bites for breakfast and some pasta for lunch. By the time I get home at night, there’s not much left in my body for cooking 😂😂.

@Bobbi Varney I made a scrambled egg mixture with fillings mixed in raw and then baked them in mini muffin tins. I’ve done it with egg and potato before too.
Health Journey doesn’t go by a calendar
TAKING ACTION: ✅ After reading the post below, comment HERE if you’re committed to continuing this journey with intention. This moment matters. ✅ Start the week grounded and focused—make choices today that support how you want to feel and show up. 🔥 “Starting strong is good. Finishing strong is epic.” — Robin Sharma We’re stepping into a powerful week, and while it might feel like a wrap-up moment of “the new year”, I want to gently shift the perspective today… ⚾️ I know we love clear start and stop points—they give structure and momentum—but sometimes they quietly plant the idea that once we reach a certain date, we’re “done.” And that’s not how real, lasting health works. Your health journey doesn’t end when a calendar page turns. It evolves. It grows with you. It adapts to different seasons of life—but it never just stops. When your approach is extreme, you count down the days until you can quit. When your approach is sustainable, you don’t crave an end date—you build a lifestyle that actually supports you. That’s where freedom lives. So no pressure to “wrap this up perfectly.” No finish line energy. Just continued intention, consistency, and self-respect. This isn’t the end, friends. It’s momentum. It’s integration. It’s the beginning of what comes next. 🔥

This is so true! Once I changed my mindset of you can’t have this and that, it makes the wanting a lot less. Some days are better than others with food but today was a good day. I ate my meal prep even though I really didn’t want to 😜🤣
