Denied TEDx Talk...again!
They said no. Actually they sent a nice email that said, "After a careful review process, we unfortunately aren’t able to include your talk in this year’s program." What I heard was, "no"! Attached you will find 1 of 5 denial/rejection/NO emails that I received THIS MORNING from speaking applications I completed. It happens. Actually I get many more "NO" emails than I do, "YES" emails but that is part of the process. I have 5 today, but another 200+ plus that I could also show you. To be honest, I'm tempted to use this as a teaching moment and share how I bounce back, what I include in my response email, how to handle the rejection and not loose yourself... but I won't. Not today. Today, on behalf of all of my colleagues that like myself are always posting flyers of where we are speaking, recap videos of how great the events are that we attend, and selfies with celebrities and notables in fancy venues... I want to simply show you that we all also get NO EMAILS. I am told NO. Often. All applications we submit are NOT ACCEPTED. Everyone DON'T WANT ME to speak at their event. There are flights we DON'T TAKE and hotels I DON'T GET to check in. Today I'm sharing the otherside of the Speaking, Coaching, Ministry & Marketplace Coin. I and others always show you when we are HEADS up in the game... this is TAILS. Checkback tomorrow for the lesson in it all.

I remember talking with Inky Johnson (global national speaker) and he asked us, “Are you really giving 100%? Or are you do enough for people to think you are? Are you doing more than others do they are happy but you really aren’t doing as much as you know you can? Wow 👀😳🫣🤔 Then I remember seeing this enigma of a square in the video and it proved that WE REALLY CAN DO MORE. You can add more to your plate. To be clear, you want to be purposeful, not just active, but I think you can do more. One more push up, one more rep, one more client call, one more email, one more offer… Add one more activity… and still be in your niche!

I can be very productive within my day by adding what fits and removing the unnecessary.
Day 4 of 7- Conversations Convert
Start Real Conversations 💥 Focus: Relationship Marketing & Lead Generation By Day 4, your business should no longer be operating in silence. Content builds visibility, but conversations build clients. 👀 Hear me Playmakers… Assume NO-ONE SEES YOUR POST… and respectfully ACT LIKE NO-ONE CARES! 😳🫣 Your post are not advertisements and the FV and IG algorithm is setup only to show paid ads and reduce your post to only 20% of your friends even seeing it the same week it’s posted. TikTok is better at showing you off but the idea is the same… Post don’t get you clients.. the post are confirmation to prospects who are vetting you not new ones looking for you. Many entrepreneurs wait for people to magically respond to their posts, but real business growth often happens through intentional connection. This is why I say make a list of 20 and text, email, call or DM them. The marketplace moves at the speed of relationships. When you start genuine conversations with people who could benefit from your expertise, you create opportunities for trust, collaboration, and future business. Today is about stepping out from behind the screen and engaging real people. Your goal is not to pressure anyone into buying, but to start meaningful dialogue. Remember you have their solution. You are a solutionist not a salesperson. (Yes I made up solutionist, but you know what I mean, 😂 ) When you listen first and show curiosity about what someone is working on or struggling with, you position yourself as someone who cares about their progress. These conversations often reveal opportunities where your coaching, speaking, or services can genuinely help someone move forward. Action Steps • Reach out to 10 people who recently engaged with your content, are in your network, or could benefit from your work. • Start a simple conversation like: 👉 “Hey, I’ve been sharing some ideas this week about growing a business / hosting a virtual masterclass. What are you currently working on in your business / career right now?”

Random conversations and the outcomes... So, this girl went to get her hair done today with a young lady I met today, and we had such a wonderful conversation that started with her place of employment catering to loc only clients. She went on to conversate about her passions and callings. Whelp, that was my cue, we got into discussing niches, and framework and on from there. She wanted to know about my grief program and after explaining in detail what it is that I do, she and I will remain in contact and set up some dates to possibly speak with some of her hairdressers. One step at a time. Yay!!
